“Enslee? Is that you?”
Alpha James Newman of the Yellow Moon pack looked stunned, like he’d seen a ghost when he laid eyes on Enslee.
I raised my eyebrow at James and put my arm around Enslee’s shoulder protectively. I went ahead and let her speak for herself, although I wanted to quiz James on why he suddenly took an interest in my mate. It didn’t occur to me that he would know her.
“Yes, who are you?” she said with skepticism in her voice.
“It’s JJ! From when you were little? You don’t remember visiting and going fishing at my pack’s pond?”
After a few moments, Enslee’s eyes lit up.
“Uncle JJ! Oh my goddess! I remember now!!! I am so glad to see you!”
