Chapter 3

BATES POV

I am shellshocked. That would make me an Alpha of a hugeee territory 2600 wolves strong, would they even accept me? This all feels like so much right now. I look down at Dani and she looks just as shocked as I do, how would we keep an eye on both territories, they aren’t too far but how would all of this work? “Son?” My dad asks and I feel like I’m going to throw up. “How would, how would we even do that?” I stutter and meet my dads eyes. “Well basically we were talking with the elders and what would happen is you would appoint two betas one to stay here with you and one to keep an eye on the territory south more with Beta Henry, we would invite any pack members to move here as they have plenty of space so we figure most of them would move to be closer to the alpha cutting down the members of our territory by about half. That way they could keep an eye on things there and we could keep an eye on things here.” Uncle Alaric nods along. “Now that you’ve accepted Dani as your mate you have to know, theres going to be many people who try to get to her, especially after you mark each other and she reaches her full powers, this is how we are going to keep her safe and prevent that, your pack will mainly be warriors after most of them move, they will be there to defend that territory, we have plenty of guard and we’ll have your father and I.” My eyes almost pop out of my head, mom and dad would move too? Dani’s being hunted? My heart hardens at that last thought, no one will touch a hair on her head and I’ll be damned if they even try. “To protect Dani? Anything.” I say and shake both of their hands. “Then it’s decided, we will send for your mother and our things and Alpha Alaric will officially appoint you as Alpha once mom gets here.”

After dinner I pull Dani to the side. “I’m sorry I didn’t consult you, I was so put on the spot I didn’t know what to say is it okay that I accepted the position?” I ask looking in her eyes. “I’ll be honest, I’m horrified to think of being a Luna to a pack so big, but we’re both strong packs and I believe in you.” I feel my shoulders relax as she places a hand on my arm. “Good, because I mean it’s pretty cool, I wonder what my sisters will decide to do?” I mutter and Dani gives me a dirty look. “You’re also worried if the she-wolf whores you slept with from your pack will move and try to cause problems with you.” Dammit I have to mind my thoughts when she’s touching me. She pulls away and continues her glare. “Listen okay I made a few mistakes.” I say “More than a few.” She scoffs. “Okay I’ve made A LOT of mistakes but thats over now, you’re my everything, every single cell in my body belongs to you now and I wouldn’t have it any other way.” I pull her into a hug and she doesn’t hug me back at first but then I feel her small arms wrap around my waist. “I’m still a virgin.” She blurts and I look at her in shock. “No way, pretty girl like you can have any guy she wants.” She rolls her eyes. “I’ve never been interested, until I saw you. I just I’ve often found men that come to see me disgusting.” I give her a smile. “Sooo you don’t think I’m disgusting?” I tease her with a raised eyebrow and she blushes slightly. “Eh you’re disgusting but I’m into it.” I laugh at her and she joins me.

“So you found your mate.” Alpha Tyler sneers from behind us his eyes showing pure jealousy. “She has.” I growl and stare him down he ignores me and leans over to look at Dani more clearly. “This guy? Really.” He says, he always thinks he’s better than everyone. “Well I see you haven’t marked each other yet so you’re still free game.” I feel my muscles tensing. “I’m not “still free game” I am with Bates and we plan on marking each other within the next few days.” Huh guess she’s got a bit more fight in her then I thought, I feel my d**k twitch at the thought of us marking each other. “Hmm we’ll see.” Alpha Tyler says cockily and walks away with his hands behind his back. “I can not wait for all of these pathetic Alphas to go back to their packs.” She groans and I grin at her. “What?” She says and touches my arm, I make sure I think of every dirty thing I plan to do to her. She gasps and takes her hand off blushing. “I knew you were disgusting.” She says smacking my chest playfully. I pick her up and carry her up the stairs. “Where’s your bedroom?” I ask and she points me in the right direction while giggling. I open her bedroom door and toss her down on her bed, crashing my lips on hers before she can even react. She runs her hands up and down my back and arms and I groan in approval. I move my hips in between her legs and start rubbing myself against her. The erection her moans are giving me feels like its about to tear my sweats. I start kissing her neck when theres a knock on the door. “Son, we’d like to go through a little more detail about our plans… sorry to uh interrupt.” I groan as I hear my dads voice. “Right now?” I ask sitting back on my knees throwing my head back, I look towards Dani and grin as she eyes my erection with a look of shock. “Yes right now, come on.” My dad says sternly. “Soon.” I whisper to her and place her hand on my c**k making her give it a squeeze and she gasp. I steal a small kiss and leave her blushing and flustered in her room.

DANIS POV

I always said I was going go make him wait for it. But the way it felt when his body was on mine, made me feel like I won’t be able to hold out. I blush thinking back on it and squirm at the wetness in between my legs. I have to shower. I quickly hop into the shower, using my best soaps and shave all over. I throw on a big t-shirt and sigh. I hope they don’t keep him long, I miss him although I can smell his scent from here. I focus on it and it’s almost like I can see into my dads office, I see Uncle Brion, Beta Henry and Bates sitting around in my dads guest chairs with my father around his big desk. My mother is there with her hand on my dads shoulder. I keep focusing and gasp as I feel my body shudder. “Dani what the hell.” I hear my dads voice and open my eyes in horror as I am now standing right behind everyone, in just a t-shirt. “Honey did you just materialize here?” My mom asks coming over and I am speechless, what did I just do? “I don’t know I was just on my bed and I could smell Bates so I focused on his scent and I saw all of you sitting here in my mind, you were all in these exact spots, so I kept focusing and I ended up here.” I say quickly both shocked and embarrassed. Everyone is looking at me shocked. Bates takes a moment to look me up and down with a smile. “Nice.” He said and my face gets more red. “Well it seems you found another power but honey do try to come dressed more appropriately next time.” My mom says giggling and I am definitely about to die from embarrassment. “Come on, I’ll bring you back to your room.” My mom takes my arm and leads me out.

“So you say you focused on his scent and saw us all in there and then you just appeared?” She asks as we’re sitting on my bed and I nod. “Hmm most vampires can do that but not based on scent, we have to know the place well and visualize what it looks like before we go. But we can’t see what’s exactly happening in that room in that moment. That’s interesting, honey I want to start training you on how to use some of your powers, I also harvest as well.” My mom tucks my hair behind my ear and grins at me excitedly, I throw a small smile back her way. “That would be really cool.” She nods. “There’s somethings I want to try to see if you can do, things only the 9 greats can but we’ll discuss this more tomorrow, I’ll leave you to it tonight, goodnight I love you.” She says and kisses my forehead. “Goodnight mom I love you too.” She vanishes from my room and I sense her the whole way back to my dads office. I’ll have to tell her that I can do that too. When my mother was 26 living in Romania as an innkeepers wife, she was lured to an old castle under the influence of a powerful vampire, he turned her and kept her as mate, but he was awful and she was his chosen mate, he was not hers. She ended up driving a stake through his heart but her power of resurrection kept her from dying after killing her creator. The old vampire council in Romania took notice of her, with her unusual speed, strength and powers and welcomed her into the 9 great powers. She now stands as a council member taking the place of her old master.

I lay staring at the moon for hours Bates still hasn’t returned to me, but I can still sense him in dads office. I’m excited for his mother Diane and sisters to finally arrive in two weeks, although Bates never really visited a lot they would come often and they were some of my closet friends, Diane was like a second mom to me. When Brion and Bates would go on long business trips or attend meetings they would travel to see us and spend a few days. They even let Kendall join us on our wacky adventures. I missed them and I was so thrilled they are going to be staying here with us.

BATES POV

“And finally.” Thank God I thought we were almost done. “We have decided to renovate the upstairs floor for you and Danielle to have to yourselves.” Uncle Alaric says and I grin back at him. “That sounds like a wonderful idea and if that’s all I will take my leave gentleman.” They nod and we shake hands. Unfortunately my ceremony will be pushed back because my mother and sisters would be delayed due to staying to help the pack members who are leaving and help account for each one. My mother is THRILLED that Dani is my mate, she loves her like her own daughter. “Aunt Helene will help Dani and you with the renovations I’m sure, she lives for these kind of things.” I nod, I’ve been trying to hurry out of here and get back to Dani for hours now but they have been going on and on. “A toast before you go Bates?” My dad asks holding up a bottle of whiskey. Goddammit. “Yeah, sure.” I cheers them both and take it down in one shot and quickly turn to leave. “Oh son one more thing.” My dad says and I drop my shoulders. “I’m just kidding son go to bed.” He jokes and I roll my eyes and practically run out of there. I sigh when I finally reach Dani’s room but shes sound asleep. I quickly take off everything but my boxers and lay down next to her. I take a few minutes to observe her, she’s so beautiful it’s crazy pale skin but a hint of rosy color on her cheeks, nose and plump lips. Her long pitch black straight hair lay all around her in a crazy pattern. I kiss her on her nose and settle in to sleep.

“Dani?” I ask with alert when I wake up and she’s not there, its still dark outside and her balcony door was wide open and I swear I can hear her screaming from a distance. I run to her balcony and jump down shifting into Daxon on my way. It feels like I’m not covering any distance, just running in place. I can still hear her screaming but she’s getting farther and farther away but I can’t get to her, she’s screaming my name. “I’m trying so hard baby.” I say trying to push myself faster but I’m stuck in slow motion. I run until I find a black pit and hear Dani’s screams emerging from within, without a second thought I dive in after and fall and fall until I crash on the ground, the last thing I see is Dani being dragged away by multiple men of different species. I wake up with a gasp, a cold sweat covering my body as I sit up trying to catch my breath. It’s daylight but my breath catches in my throat when I realize Dani’s not next to me. I get up quickly stumbling around “Dani!” I yell and sigh in relief when she comes out of her bathroom, toothbrush hanging out of her mouth looking confused. “Oh thank God.” I pull her into my arms and hold her tightly, she wraps her arms around my waist. “What an awful nightmare.” She whispers, I feel my heart rate slowing down as her touch calms me. I nod and close my eyes inhaling her scent. “You need a shower sweaty.” She giggles and steps on her tip toes to kiss my chest and I chuckle. “Will you join me?” I ask and she shakes her head. “I’m not some easy she wolf you just seduced baby, you gotta work for it.” I grin at her and run my hand through my hair. “I like the challenge.” I say picking her up causing her to yelp, I slam my lips into hers and push her down on my erection. She moans against my lips causing me to get harder. “Bates. You. Are. Not. Seducing. Me.” She says between kisses and scrambles off of me. “Go take a cold shower.” She demands pointing to her bathroom. “Yes ma’am.” I say with a salute. “I’ll get your belongings from your old room.” I nod and smack her butt as she walks away. “Hey! Behave.” She says laughing and shaking her head.

I smile as I notice Dani’s picked me out an outfit and laid it out on her bed for me, some casual shorts with a t-shirt. I quickly slip it on and make my way to breakfast, I grin at Dani as I walk in and make my way to our table. I kiss the top of her head and take my seat next to her. “Ohhh you two.” Helene exclaims clapping her hands together making Dani blush. “Diane is going to love seeing how cute you two are, lets get a picture.” She says holding up her phone and I wrap my arm around Dani’s shoulders and grin. “Awww makes my still heart almost feel like it’s beating, ugh to think Diane and I are going to share grandbabies, you two will have to start working on that but I know Danielle can be quite the prude so.” Dani groans and lays her head in her hand. “Mooommmm.” She begs and I laugh along with my dad and Alaric. “My love please, lets not torture our daughter too much.” Alaric says placing a kiss on Helene’s cheek. “Heyyy there he is!” I hear my friends familiar voices as they walk into the dining hall carrying their bags. “Yo! Alex! Carter!” I say standing up greeting them with hugs. Sadly I’ve decided to appoint my other friend Xavier as the beta who will over see the other territory so he won’t be joining us here. Alex and Carter are two very strong warriors but Xavier could beat them both with his hands tied behind his back. “Dude which one is she?” Alex asked looking around and I bring them over to the table where they bow to father, Alaric and Helene. “Dani, this is Alex and Carter my best friends, boy’s this is my beautiful mate soon to be Luna Danielle but we call her Dani.” They’re both drooling over her as they introduce themselves. “I’m excited to be working under you Dani.” Carter says with wink and I pat his back extra hard causing him to groan. “That’s Danielle to you.” I say sternly, Dani giggles and shakes their hands.

“You realize how lucky you are right?” Alex asks as I lead them to their new rooms, I nod. “Dude she’s like the hottest girl you’ve ever been with, no doubt. Don’t f**k it up.” Carter says pushing my playfully. “I would never, she’s my mate it’s like no other girl matters anymore.” Alex groans. “Maybe I can find my mate and stop playing the field too.” I roll my eyes at him and Carter shakes his head. “You don’t even play the field dude, you slept with one girl like 3 years ago.” Carter says laughing and I join him. “I’m sorry I want to stay loyal to my mate who I haven’t met yet, but when I do, I’m sure she will appreciate it.” He folds his arms across his chest and glares at us. “How did Dani feel when she found out you’ve caught more bodies than a morgue?” I look at the ground sheepishly. “She wasn’t happy.” I admit and Alex nods. “And I will avoid that with my mate.” Carter’s eyes almost pop out of his head and he looks at me. “Sooo many of them are coming here, Dani is not going to be happy. Especially because Ciera is saying how she’s going to reclaim you and all this shit.” I roll my eyes that f*****g pain in my neck. “I slept with her a few times when no one else was available and she thinks I’m in love with her.” I groan. “She better not come with the intention to f**k up what I have with Dani.” Alex grins. “Dani seems like she can handle her own though, I’d love to see her throw hands with Ciera.” I nod. “She would f**k Ciera up.”

I go back to find Dani who’s helping the kitchen workers clean up breakfast. “Hiii.” She says as I come up to her wrapping an arm around her waist. “Hey gorgeous come here often?” I ask with a grin and she flashes me a gorgeous smile and shrugs. “Sometimes.” She says and I take her pile of plates from her. “Don’t you have people that do this?” I ask walking to the dishwashing area and she nods. “Ms. Jones gets so busy I like to help when I can. Your friends seem nice.” She says dumping a pile into the sink. “Yeah I’ve known them since birth basically, we’re like brothers.” She smiles at me and pulls her hair into a loose bun. “That’s nice, I’m glad you get to have them here.” I nod. “Me too.” I lean down and give her a kiss. My body freezes when I hear the clicking of annoying heels and a squeal. “Bates my love, I’ve missed you.” f*****g Ciera.
