As promised, Nurse Valencia came and quickly gave Nari her medicine, then proceeded to take her with as she administered medicine to the other children in the unit. Nari was excitedly helping Valencia by taking the medicine cups from the kids after they took the medication and placing them on the bottom of the trolly. She even introduced herself to the other kids and even made friends with them. She seemed to especially take a liking to a little girl the same age as her named, "Arabella." The too little girls chit-chatted and giggled at videos Arabella was watching on her Ipad, which led Valencia to leave Nari in Arabella's room while she continued with her work. Once finished handing our medication and writing her reports Valencia heads to Arabella's room to go tell them it's time for bed but when she walked in the room she found the two had fallen asleep next to each other on Arabella's bed, making Valencia smile at how cute and peaceful they looked. If it was normal circumstances she'd leave them to sleep but since it's in the hospital she has to take Nari back to her room, hence she carefully picked her up and carried her back to her room, where she gently laid her down and tucked her in, then whispers "goodnight doll face" to her then walks out the room. Over the next couple of days Nari and Arabella got very close as both also got better health wise, infact even Nari's little brother was doing in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, giving everyone hope that all possibly will be well for Nari's parents aswell but unfortunately that was not the case as a week and a half after the accident Nari's mother succumb to her injuries. Nari's maternal grandparents were broken and didn't know how to break the new to Nari that her mother has passed away, so they asked nurse Valencia to please be present when they tell Nari since she trusts her and knows how to comfort her just like her mother does. Nurse Valencia agrees and meets up with both sets of grandparents and make their way into the little girl's room where she lying on bed watching cartoons, but quickly got distracted from her cartoon when noticing her grandparents walk in, bringing a excited smile to her face. Unfortunately, as quickly as the smile bloomed on her face, just as quickly it disappeared when she looked at her grandparents' solm expressions and red puffy eyes. Nari has always been an intuitive child despite being so young, which is why she's immediately asked them if something happened to her parents. Her grandparents looked at each other for a second then her maternal grandmother stepped forward and took ahold of her small hand saying, "Nari, tesoro mio, la nonna è così dispiaciuta di doverti dire questo, ma la tua mamma ci ha lasciato ed è andata in paradiso. (Nari, my darling, grandma is so sorry to have to tell you this, but your mommy has left us and gone to heaven.) Hearing this Nari let out a loud scream and jumped of the bed and tried to run to go see her mom but nurse Valencia quickly grabbed her and held her thight while she just continued to cry and call out for her mother, it broke everyone in the rooms heart seeing her like that as they all know she's always been the apple of her mother's eye. Valencia called one of the other nurse and asked her to ask one of the doctor to quickly sign off on the prescription so they could give Nari something to help calm down. In that moment Valencia was so annoyed with the medical field that really requires every single stupid thing to be signed of even in such times like these, but luckily Nari doctor was in the wards doing rounds and immediately came himself to admire the sedative himself. It took about five minutes for the sedative to work and for Nari to calm down, infact she even fell asleep. Valencia left Nari's grandparents to sit with her, that's until they got a call from the doctor in the ICU who this time had news about her mother so the asked nurse Valencia if she could keep an eye on Nari and that they'll be back soon. Valencia agreed, and Nari's grandparents left the pediatric ward and headed over to the ICU, where they anxiously asked the doctor what's wrong. The doctor told them to calm down and that he had some good news, which was that Nari's father had opened his eyes for a moment, looked around and closed them again but then when they called out to him he seemed to respond by opening his eyes, which to them was a very good sign after not being sure if he would make it since he had such major injuries. Both sets of Nari's grandparents they took Nari's mom for a scan to check on her brain after noticing on the monitor that her interracial pressure seems to be improving, and the scan showed that the swelling in her brain seemed to also be decreasing, so much so that she opened her eyes for a moment. Nari's grandparents felt somewhat relieved that Nari isn't losing both her parents but still wondered how Nari's father is going to take the news about his wife's passing, and hoped that it won't cause him to have a set back and not fight to make it back to his his kids. The doctor advised them not to tell him immediately and give it a couple of days until they were certain he's really as stable as he seemed. Nearly a two went by and with every day he really seemed to be making marked improvements and stayed more alert and breathing without the assistance of a ventilator but still had a trachiostomy, which was a relief because Nari's maternal grandparents were not happy postponing her mother's funeral for so long so they finally told him of his wife's passing and that they'll be having her funeral on the weekend. Nari's father was broken and had numerous tears running down his cheeks, and the fact that he couldn't physically attend her funeral broke him futher but the funeral home was kind enough to arrange with the hospital and his doctors to have the funeral service livestreamed so he could atleast watch. Nari's father wish he could atleast write a letter to convey the sorrow he was feeling in losing the love of his life and mother of his children but unfortunately with his injuries that is impossible and so he had to settle with the thought that one day he would visit her grave and say everything he wants to her.
