Chapter 1: Request pending...
The message came at 1:42 AM.
“@CaffeineAndSilence: Your words… feel like mine, only louder.”
Aditi noticed it while aimlessly scrolling through her poetry page, expecting nothing more than the usual likes and late-night “heyyy” DMs. But this one didn’t look like a flirt or a follower desperate for attention. It looked... still. Clean. Thoughtful.
She didn’t open it.
Not right away.
Instead, she stared at her screen with a sarcastic smile and muttered to herself, “Yeh bhi koi nayi trick toh nahi?”
Then tossed her phone aside and fell back on her bed — that same old bed that had held more tears than sleep in the past few months.
Aditi wasn’t scared of messages. She just didn’t trust words anymore.
Especially the ones that came late at night and disappeared by morning.
And yet, something about that username—@CaffeineAndSilence—stayed with her.
She had built walls using boldness, confidence, and her poetry.
Walls no one had really looked behind.
Except maybe… this one line?
After 15 minutes of trying not to care, she picked up the phone again.
Still no new message. Just that same line staring back at her.
She opened his profile.
No bio.
No posts.
No mutual followers.
Just a profile picture of a steaming coffee cup next to a blurry night window. Strange, but comforting.
Her fingers hovered over the keyboard.
Typed “Who are you?”
Then deleted it.
She didn’t reply.
But for the first time in months…
She wanted to.
