CHAPTER TEN
Xander hadn’t had much sleep during the night. For the first time since he’d met Chloe, his bed felt empty and cold. A zillion thoughts prevented him from nearing sleep. Chief among them was the phone call he’d received from Chloe’s number. He toyed with calling back, but felt it was better to let him call her.
Of course, Chloe wouldn’t be doing calling any time soon. The crumpled sheets on the floor next to Mesi’s bed weren’t soft enough for her. She ended up sleeping next to her friend in her bed.
