"f*****g pricks," she roared, catching the attention of some students in the IT rooms as they rolled past her. "Chloe!" Freddie said. He was the dark-skinned kid she’d met in the canteen yesterday, though they barely knew one another. "What’s up, man?" "Leave me alone, get out of my way." Chloe pushed him against the wall and made for the stairwell. The girl needed fresh air and some sun to calm down. "Hey, Chloe." Freddie chased after her and ran toward the stairwell. "No, Freddie!" she screamed at the walls, her voice echoing down the stair rails and into the playground. She took the first step and felt his hand on her shoulder. Instinctively, she turned around and took a swipe at her assailant. Freddie jumped back and jumped down a few steps. "Chloe, what the f**k is going on?" "
