Sapphire

Sapphire looked around and couldn't recognize where she was. Her aunt was no longer there. It was dark. People were moving around.

"Where are my?She walked up to a man.

"Excuse me,sir can you please tell me where I am?

The man didn't even look at her. He walked on.

"Hey! You could have just said no. Rude much"

She saw a lady standing at a corner.

She walked up to her.

"Excuse me miss. Can you please tell me where I am"

The lady didn't respond.

"Hello"Sapphire tapped her and she turned violently shrieking. Sapphire was filled with horror. The lady looked just like her except she had long nails,sharp teeth and blood was all over her face. Sapphire screamed and started running away but the creature followed her .She tried to slip between two buildings but they suddenly disappeared and a high wall was there,she turned to face the creature.

" Who are you? What do you want from me?

The creature cackled noisily.

"Can't see the resemblance, can you. I'm you!

Sapphire was stunned, she had the mark on her arm.

"It can't be. You can't be me "

"I am"The creature moved dangerously close to her.

"Get away from me. Get away"

It lunged towards her and pinned her to the ground. She screamed.

"Sapphire wake up. We're here already .We're in London "

Sapphire opened her eyes breathing heavily. It was just a dream. It didn't seem surreal. It felt real. She looked at the hand the creature had held her. It was bruised. Her eyes shot open. How is this possible!

"Anything the matter? Wendy asked looking at her. Sapphire hid her hand.

"Oh I'm fine. Super duper! She laughed nervously and got up.

After everything at the airport. They boarded a taxi to Wendy's place. Throughout the journey Sapphire was quiet. Her aunt had been talking but she hadn't been listening to a single word. She couldn't stop thinking about the strange dream she had. She took frequent glances at her wrist.

what did that dream mean. Was she actually there but how? What was that creature and what did it want from her. Why was it trying to hurt her and why did it have that same mark.

"Sapphire you're not even listening to me. Are you?

Her aunt's voice brought her mind back to her surrounding.

"Oh.. em did you say anything?

"Ugh. I told you we just passed the giant clock. What are you thinking about? Home"

"Em... well yes I was just thinking about home"Sapphire replied smiling nervously. Her aunt raised a brow.

"Are you sure sugar? You've been acting strange since you came off the plane"

"No I'm fine. Totally. Don't worry about me"She tried to hide her nervousness but it was a poor attempt.

Wendy scanned her and her eye caught her wrist.

"Was that there a minute ago. Sapphire honey you hurt yourself" She reached out and took Sapphire's hand despite Sapphire request to let her be.

"When did this happen? Wendy asked.

"Oh it's nothing. Just a little bruise. I'm fine. "

"These look like they were caused by animal claws"Wendy looked at it closer but Sapphire withdrew her hand and replied so fast she could bearly hear herself.

"Animal claws? That's crazy! It's nothing. Just a little scratch and all. Nothing more,nothing less"Sapphire smiled. It wasn't a sincere smile. Her aunt shrugged.

"Well if you say so"

They remained quiet till they got to the house.

Sapphire walked into the apartment with her luggage. It was big,nice and well furnished.

I could get used to living in a place like this but I have to go to boarding school. My parents had to make that decision. ugh

"Your room is by the left. I wasn't informed on your coming here early enough, so it needs a little clean up and redecorating "

"It's okay. I can handle that. "

Sapphire entered the room,there was a bed,shelf ,reading table a few old books and other anonymous stuff.

"Where do I keep all these stuff?

"Keep em in the storeroom across the hall but keep the books in my room. Try to be careful "

"Sure, wouldn't want to break the books" Sapphire said waving her hands in sarcasm.

Wendy laughed.

"Really funny but I'm being serious and don't read em "

"Okay ma'am "

Sapphire started her clean up while her aunt was fixing dinner.

Sapphire looked at the room it wasn't completely organized but manageable. After all she was only staying for a few days before she'd go to school. She looked at the stack of books and carried them.

"These books are so dusty... ah... ah....atchoo"

All the books fell to the ground.

"Oh goodness. I hope aunt Wendy didn't here that"

She bent down to pick the books up. She arranged them in terms of size. She picked up a red cover book with green vines on it as designs. Then her heart froze. The symbol was on it. She read the title.

"The great sisterhood"

What did this mean?How did this symbol relate to her. Could this tell her more she needed to know about herself. Her curiosity rose.

"I have to read this book"

Then she heard the door open.

"What are you doing? I told you not to read them"

"Oh sorry.. they fell. I...

Wendy took the book from her hand.

"Wait aunt Wendy,that book .What's it about?

"Nothing that you should be reading young lady"Wendy walked up to the door.

"Join me for dinner when you're done" With that she walked out of the room.

Sapphire's mind went back to the book. She had a feeling that book would answer her questions .

Then go get it. She heard a clear voice say. She looked around the room and saw no one.

"Anyone there?

There was no answer.

"I guess it's just in my head "

"Sapphire.,your food will get cold "

"Coming"

She got up from where she sat on the floor and left the room.
