“I can’t believe she actually said no to just talking to you” Raymond said almost laughing at his friends predicament.
“Like she turned down just being in the same space as you” Raymond added as he tried so hard to bruise his friend’s ego with his words
Estephan had never been turned down before, he was the person who did the rejecting not the other way around. Once he sets his eyes on a lady he wants, he always gets. Most times all he had to do was smile back at ladies at events and they find a way to sneak their cards onto his table and into his laps.
Just recently at a convention on “money speaking volume” which he was invited as a guest speaker, he met a lady whose name was Lara. He never knew if that was her full name and he never asked. Before settling into his hotel room he prepared for the presentation in the hotel lobby and that was where he met Lara.
She was a red head but now looking back at that event , he couldn’t tell if it was real or not. She had this beautiful set of eyes and really large hips which was paired with a tiny waist giving her a perfect hour glass figure. She walked up to him and gave him a compliment on the suit he wore which sounded more flirtatious than a compliment. He wore a three piece navy blue suit with ivory buttons.
After less than 3 minutes of conversation she told him where to find her as she slipped a note into the breast pocket of the suit he wore.
When he found her room, she made love to him in the literal sense as she caressed every single part of him. Just as she placed his shaft into her throat , she moaned in a high pitch as it turned her on more than he could imagine. He kept staring at her all through and the only words he could get out was a subtle “f**k”. They had more sessions of “pleasure” till the convention was over. After those few days of pleasure her tenure was over and that was the end of that fling.
This occurred in most similar patterns except when he goes for his employees. When that happens he makes them sign a non-disclosure consensual agreement before anything s****l can be done between them. But this women loved him, they loved his touch, his smell, everything about him was a lady magnet, his wealth was only an addition.
How could this lady refuse to speak to him, it was him, Estephan, the replica of Lord Byron he was irresistible.
“Maybe you are not as charming as you use to be” Raymond said with the full knowledge that his friend was still in shock and disbelief of how a lady bluntly rejected a one on one meeting with the Estephan.
“She is probably playing hard to get” Raymond added as he realized his friend was still unable to say a word to break the silence seal on his lips.
But Raymond had a point, this might not have been an outright rejection. It might just be her playing hard to get. But there was something even her could not make him do, play a lady’s pun games. He believed it was a waste of his precious time which he seemed to have little of with each passing day. The unrealistic expectations that are being set by this lady’s who play the hard to get games with the hope of holding out on men till they make real effort was a really crazy idea if you ask him. He wanted s*x and only s*x every other thing being offered is at your own risk and that was clear. Yet he still had lady’s who were willing to reduce themselves to the barest minimum just to have him lay beside them. His ego was wounded by this rejection differently, he was turned down before he even got a chance to introduce himself.
Diane read and worked on the terms and conditions, she was going to drag them with all the focus she could lay her hand on. She needed the pitch to sound assertive and at the same time not too over bearing and boring. She needed to make them see the beauty in this old, technologically deprived bank and allow it to function with a few modifications which doesn’t have an effect on the structure or personnel. As she brain stormed her method of approach, the office line began to ring in a consistent pattern. As she picked up the phone the familiar high pitch excited Tracy was on the line
“Your mother is on the line, she wants to talk to you” said Tracy and dropped the phone in order to connect the two lines.
She was avoiding her mother’s call, it was obvious. She had not turned in the rent for the month at her mother’s place. She always did it on the 20th of every month making sure it wasn’t late. How does she tell her mother that she was completely broke? Not many people know about the house that she purchased with the bank loan, most people just assumed the source of her sadness was the humiliation that came with the canceled wedding but not the s**t load of debt that she incurred . You would assume she made a lot of money from her salary since the promotion but all the advance she was pulling to ensure the wedding was up to her taste had wasted her funds. All the knowledge she had acquired both in and out of school as an investment banker went completely down the drain when she met Jayce her ex fiancé.
“Good morning mum, how are you doing today?” She asked over the phone trying to mask the sadness that was brewing inside her.
“ I have been a little busy with work of late” she added
“About the rent?” She said
“ I will post it today, I have just been too busy with work, it skipped my mind” she said.
“For the hundredth time I am fine mum, it’s been almost a year, I am doing great” she said trying to smile
“I have to go back to work, send my greetings to the girls” she said while dropping the phone and turning to keep checking the documents right in-front of her.
It had been two days since she bluntly said she wasn’t interested in speaking to him in the most brief way possible. But he couldn’t get her out of his mind. He wasn’t sure if it was just his ego that was bruised or the fact that Raymond made things worse by telling him to stick to his class. He was a f*****g billionaire, she was the one who had to cross the social circle not him but why did it feel like his money couldn’t get him this one girl.
He was still deep in thought when Raymond walked into his office
“Trouble in paradise?” He said as he sat down on the all leather couch by the corner right of the office. This was a place where Estephan got to relax and take a few drinks still within his office. It has two red leather couches facing each other and a glass table placed in between. He also needed that chair for quickies which he did mostly at work and at hotels, most girls didn’t know where he lived.
Estephan was seated at the other side with a rock glass on his right hand , the bottle of glenmorangie original whisky on the glass table and his wrist slightly dropped in the air while still holding the glass cup.
“Don’t be silly, I have had a enough of your teasing, drop it” he said to Raymond trying so hard to feign seriousness.
“She is just one woman he added, it is not a big deal” Estephan added.
“Not a big deal?, this is the first woman immune to your charms, it is definitely worth celebrating” Raymond said.
“Can I get a glass, let’s toast” Raymond asked Estephan not expecting something positive to come out off his friends lips but still there he was poking him more and more.
“Go drink in your own office” Estephan said while standing up to return to he’s office desk.
“I think I know what to do to get that incident out from my head, since miss Diane wants to play, let’s play”. Estephan said while wearing his suit jacket and picking up his phone.
“What new tricks do you have? Raymond asked
“Cause I am eager to know” he added
“I am a really patient man, I will wait and she will come to me in due time” Estephan said
“Was it the same way she came to the garage, I am kinda lost” Raymond said laughing a little too loud.
“Get out of my office would you, I am leaving now” Estephan said.
“Okay lover boy, I am leaving” Raymond said as he walked towards the door. Estephan followed suit right behind him.
Estephan hardly ever drove his car, he was a billionaire, he hired numerous people for just that so it was shocking when he told the driver to hand over the keys to the car. He told the driver he wanted to go for a ride to clear his head. After saying something that stupid, he wondered why he had to explain to his driver why he wanted to drive his own car.
It had been over 30 minutes since he was parked at that street, he kept his eyes focused on the building before him and you could tell he was eagerly waiting for someone to come out of the office. From his inquiry she didn’t have a car and that was her route to the bus station and also the informant told him she left the office at 6pm each day.
What was he doing at 14 Cornelian street? This wasn’t a clear manifests of the patience he bragged about few minutes ago to Raymond . He finally sighted her as she stepped out of the revolving door and dispersed from a group of colleagues. He quickly stepped out of the car and walked towards her taking his time to carry all his aura along with him.
“We meet again” he said to Diane.
She looked up at him with disbelief, was he really there?.
