“Kiero, thank you for helping me. I don’t know what I would’ve done without you.” Even in her weakened state, Airah managed to say these words to him, her gratitude evident in her voice. “I can’t tell my parents what happened to me; I don’t want them to worry. You know how fragile my dad’s heart is. If they found out, it would only cause them more stress, and I can’t bear to put that burden on them.”
