The Meeting

Liana's POV: He had a disturbed look on his face and if only I cared, I would have asked him what was wrong. However, I couldn't care less about him or what was bothering him. Ronan had taken over the pack and had been its Alpha for three years. In those three years too, he had taken me, a mere Beta, to be his Luna whether I liked it or not. Within a week of his takeover, the wedding was already done and for three years, I had been living as his wife and Luna who only bore hatred towards him. In my eyes, he had killed the previous Alpha, who was loved and the best thing for the pack. He had turned the pack into a dictatorship of his that was bound to what he said without questioning. He had forced me into a marriage that was full of manipulation, control and loathe from him. He always knew where I stood in regards to my feelings for him, but that didn't stop him. I fought him at every corner and vowed to make the marriage a living hell for him. This was followed by weeks of torture and solitude in the dungeons till I 'straightened up' or till I gave up the fighting spirit. I had always been a free and wild spirit, no amount of persuasion was going to tame me. Instead, I gave up and prayed that one day I would find the spirit to fight back once again. This was when Athena disappeared. She must've given up together with me and saw it best to just go into a deep sleep where I couldn't wake her. So, as Ronan walked into the room and was walking into the bathroom, he looked at me and then at Vera, who's lips had now thinned. "Shouldn't you be busy doing something?" He asked as he disappeared into the bathroom. Vera looked at me and didn't need to say anything. We both knew that she had to leave, because if Ronan stepped out of the bathroom and found her still in the room, it might be an issue. She was quickly out of the room and after a few minutes, Ronan was out of the bathroom, still dripping from the shower he just had. "I have a meeting with the warriors, make sure that no one interrupts us." He ordered, not even sparing me a glance. "Shouldn't your Beta be doing that?" I asked, obviously with attitude, as I stared out the window and into the huge field that was in the distance. I heard something drop and clatter. Not wanting to know if it was his fist hitting the dressing table, I didn't bother to look. With irritation in his voice, he responded, "He'll be in the meeting with me. And as the Luna of the pack and my wife, you do as I say without questioning! Do you hear me?" I was silent for a moment, waiting for his anger to boil over, just a little bit more before I responded. "As you wish, Husband," I responded, making sure that he picks up on the mockery when I called him my husband. Of course he expected me to do whatever he wanted, and however he wanted it done. That's all I was and had ever been to him. A messenger. A servant. A trophy wife for him to show off to the pack and the other packs. I would be lying when I say that he was not suited to be an Alpha. In actuality, Ronan Flint was a ruthless and dominant Alpha who had earned all that he had. He used his skills and brain to cook up a plan and easily take over our pack from our previous Alpha. He had gone to war and his strategies always guaranteed the CrimsonFall Pack victory in all the battles that were fought. So, I would be lying if I said that he wasn't an Alpha. However, I would be lying if I said that he was my husband. That one thing was the only thing that I would rather be tortured and tormented, but never admit. In my eyes, he was the man that took my life from me. He was the man that caged me, forcing me how to act, eat and where to sleep among others. So, as I delivered the message to the Pack, I thought about all the ways that he had made my life miserable and how I had vowed to break free from my binds. As soon as the message was delivered and I was walking back to my room to lay down, I spotted Vera making her way to me through the crowd. She seemed agitated and I could tell that she had something to tell me. "What's up?" I asked her as soon as she got to where I was. On top of everything, she was also cautious. She looked around as if trying to see if anyone was listening in. Perhaps she was just paranoid since everyone was literally going back to what they were doing. I didn't see anyone paying any attention to us. I guess that it wasn't good enough for Vera, she grabbed me by the hand and dragged me off into the hallway where there was no one. "What's wrong with you?" I asked her, growing curious about what was clearly bothering her. "Have you noticed something?" She asked, still looking around. "Noticed what? That you're so cautious that one might think you're handing over nuclear launch codes?" I countered with my own. She snickered and sighed. "No, I've just come from outside the pack house. At the gates, there are only two men standing guard. At the far back along the wall, near the woods, there's just one man patrolling." She commented, looking at me with a stare that I had only accustomed to chaos. "What do you think it means?" I asked her, trying to understand what angle she was looking at it from. "I don't care what it means and neither should you. I'm just saying, if someone had been looking for a chance to escape for three years from a marriage that she hated, I believe that now would be the best time." She answered, making sure I picked up on what she meant.
