CHANGES IN MY LIFE

BUILD'S POV I was walking slowly into the dark alley where my place I'm staying when two men carelessly bump into me because they are in hurry. I even hear them saying you killed the wrong guy dude and the other one looks so tense. They didn't even bother to say sorry after bumping me and I almost fall to the ground. Why do I need to expect that when I already heard them talking about killing someone? So I keep on walking, but I almost lose my s**t because someone grabbed me by my legs at the corner. I didn't intentionally kick him but I did because he scared the s**t out of me. "Help me" I heard him groaning in pain on the dirty pavement. "Why do I need to help you" I hissed because I know he was just some random guy that are drunk and can't even walk again trying to ask for some help. Because I'm staying in the downtown area where their bars are located. "Please" he pleaded again while coughing. Then he clutches his stomach and looks at his hand. I don't know why I keep on watching what is he doing right now. "Blood" I heard him say again. Then I got nervous when I heard him what said that. "s**t I need to go," I said but he rolled and grabbed me by my legs again and even hug it. "If I die today, I will come and haunt you," he said groaning again. What the hell is he saying now? Now I'm being anxious again because I'm scared of ghosts. And him telling me that he will come and haunt me scared me a lot. I know I'm a man but I have so many fears in life. "Hey don't say that," I told him and kick him, not too hard though. Then I took my phone and turn on the flashlight to check his condition. There he is full of blood and the scariest thing I saw when he lose consciousness. "Hey, wake up" I kicked him again trying to wake him up. Now I'm even more nervous because what if he died and come to haunt me at night pulling my legs when I'm sleeping? Now I'm having goosebumps everywhere. I kneel to check on him. I checked his pulse rate and still beating so I can finally relax a little bit. But when I stare at his stomach where the stab is, I can't see his stomach moving up and down anymore. He's not breathing. My palms are sweating and my heartbeat is rapidly beating because of nervousness. I put my finger on his nose to check if he is not breathing but I can't feel anything, so I move my face to him to double check but he scared me again. "Taking advantage of a wounded person?" he whispered. So I smacked him because of shock. And because of that, he lost consciousness. Why does he need to scare me like that, I said clutching my heart too. "Did I kill him?" I asked myself worrying if he died. Now I don't know what to do, to call an ambulance or mortuary. Living in a different country is not easy, now I need to help this guy before they will think that I killed him, and end up in jail. Then I heard his phone ringing in his pocket. I didn't think twice to get his phone from his pocket, just in case someone called him and help me with him. Then I saw the caller I.d is Dad. So I answered it without hesitation. "Where are you, the clients have been waiting for you. Did you go to a club again? If you don't answer me now, I cut off your atm card." hid dad is angry but I need to tell him that I'm not his stupid son. "Excuse me sir this is not him..." "What? Where is he give him the phone, are you one of his boyfriends?" he asked without manners. I want to answer him back, but he is older than me. And I still have respect for them. "Bui a little bit of patience," I said to myself trying to calm down and not to answer back. "No sir, your son got stabbed and now he's in between death and survival. And if you can come right now maybe your son will survive in danger." I answered without stopping. "What?" now he's voice becomes worried. "Yes sir you heard me right, so please can you come over now before it's too late" I sadly said. "Please take him to the hospital don't let him die I'm begging you" I heard him say sniffling on the other line. "But sir, I need to go to work now" I lied because I don't want to get involved with incidents like this. "Please I will pay you just take him to the hospital now," why I can't say no to him now? Is my father going to beg like this too when I'm in this situation? Now I even miss my father so much upon hearing him begging for his son's life. "Okey sir" That's all and he ended his call I called a taxi and take him to the nearest hospital. At the hospital, they didn't attend to him that quickly because they need his information and everything. Because he is also not a citizen like me in this country. They need to investigate my background and his background. If I'm related to him or not. It's good that they give me his wallet and Identification card before the interrogation, so I have the excuse that I'm his cousin and answer them without stuttering. It's good that they didn't have a further investigation or else we both will be terminated in their country. Why did I even say that I'm his cousin in the first place? Bui, you are really stupid I said to myself. I don't even know if that guy is nice or bad. A few more hours and we are already in his hospital bed. I'm already exhausted from today's event, so I lay down on the couch next to the hospital bed to rest for a bit Then my phone started ringing.  "Mine, are you busy?" I heard my boyfriend Mile whisper on the other line. I know he's in the bathroom again hiding to call me. I can hear the echo of his voice. "No, I'm in my room right now getting ready to sleep. How about you?" I lied because I don't want him to get worried. "Packing my things to bring there with me. See you soon mine, I miss you so much," now I have my energy back upon hearing say that. "Mile, we have some visitors, you have to get ready because we are going out with them," I heard his dad calling him. And he even bangs on the bathroom door. "Yes, dad I'm coming" He answered. "I miss you too, just call me when you landed," I told him. "Yes mine, I love you so much, and please wait for me no matter what," He said, I don't want to say goodbye but I need to too. I want to talk to him more but I know we can do that when he comes here. "Goodbye Mine, I love you too" was the last word I told him before hanging up my phone. Living in a foreign country is not easy but I need to endure it because of love. Because I and Mile promise that we are going to start a new life here. After our call, I didn't know I fell asleep. I wake up with someone tickling my ears. "Mine please stop," I said and cover my ear and continue sleeping. But the tickling continues until I move from my bed and fall on the floor. Then I realized that I'm not in my bed but I was on the couch on a hospital bed. "That hurts" I groaned while touching my back. Then someone giggled next to me.  "Why are you staring at me?" I asked him annoyed "I'm just mesmerized by your looks," he said and even laugh this time. What a flirt, I said to myself. "What is your name?" he asked and get back to his bed as if nothing happened to him last night. "I'm not telling you," I snapped at him and get ready to go to the bathroom. "Where are you going?" He asked again. I don't like it if someone asks me so many questions when I just woke up, I find it annoying especially this guy. I don't find him amusing at all. "To the bathroom why do you want to come?" I asked him without even thinking anything. "Are you sure about that?" he said and started removing his shirt. "What the hell are even thinking?" I said shocked and hurriedly went to the bathroom and locked it so he can't come inside. Geez, I helped a perverted guy and even tell them that he is my cousin. I fixed myself after doing my using the toilet. I checked the time on my phone and I saw that I'm already late for work, because it was already midday. Hopefully, they will let me slide for today. "I'm leaving," I said and bring my bag after coming out. "Give me your phone number so I can contact you for the payment. My dad called me already this morning and tell me everything," he said showing me his phone. "No, it's fine, just forget about it," I replied, ready to leave. "Can you at least tell me your name?" He asked me "No need, because I know we are not going to see each other again, cousin." I give him a beautiful smile to remember.
