Charley walked past the cot in which Iara slept with Raga cuddled next to her and he smiled. “They could not get out of the caves before the eruption but they weren’t injured.”
Jeremiah led Charley out of the small room and weaved his way through the fallen debris in the caverns. Dim torchlights flickered, casting an eerie glow throughout the underground tunnels. “Let’s head back to Mab and she if she’s finished talking with Veronika.”
Charley yawned and covered his mouth with his hand. “I could use some sleep myself. It’s been a long day.”
“I agree.” Jeremiah stopped and turned to his friend. “I want you to know how much I appreciate all your help in finding Cinderella. You’ve been away from Ginny and your children and now you’re stuck here with me far from home.”
