Mab shook her head. “You will be making someone else suffer and the war that Napoleon will continue will kill hundreds of thousands of people.”
“But I have no memories of what you accuse me of. I don’t remember coming back into the past and changing my life. I just remember what happened to my parents and I want to learn how to move on from that.”
“Then accept your fate and go back.” Mab crossed her arms. “Do it or you will have lost your soul.”
Veronika pulled herself up and said, “I will not go back. I do not wish to go!”
Mab lowered her head and pulled herself within. She did not lash out, but simply asked Jeremiah, “What will you do?”
Jeremiah had stood as well and he put his hand out to Veronika and asked, “Why don’t you sleep on it tonight and decide in the morning?”
