Meaning: Unattainable

I watched her working. She wasn't doing much though. But I knew she was focused since she scrunched her eyebrows and her tongue stick out a bit at the corner os her mouth. This woman was beautiful. Beautiful chocolate skin, Nia Long short cut hairstyle, beautiful cocoa brown eyes, cute button nose, pearly whites with dimples that made your heart skip a beat. She was average height, medium size, and walked with so much confidence. I wanted her to be mines os badly but I couldn't have her. She was married to the one of the worst people ever. This man was a police officer who constantly abused her, cheated on her and she still stayed with him. Why? I wish I knew. She would constantly come in with black eyes and a swollen lip. She would put on makeup to cover her bruises but I saw straight through them. I was the one catching her when she would fall. I was the one who would wipe her tears as she cried. I was the shoulder she would lean when her husband would cheat on her constantly. I would tell her to leave him but she wouldn't listen. She would make up the stupidest excuses like He didn't mean it or He apologized and they would work it out. We got into a bad argument about 2 weeks ago and she said she hated me and left me alone. I tried to make it up to her but she wasn't hearing it. As much as it hurts, I have to let her go and move on with my life.

It was time for me to clock out. As I headed into the office, she was there as well, typing away on her phone. She didn't want anything to do with me so I kept my distance. I got my time sheet and clocked out. As I grabbed the door about to leave, I felt a small hand grab mines. I look down at it and looked up. It was her,  with a weak smile.

"Yes?" I had to act like I didn't care but on the inside, I had butterflies in my stomach.

"Can we talk?" her voice was soft and vulnerable, meaning she didn't want to argue. I sat down and gave her my undivided attention. What did her husband do now?

"I filed for divorce with him. I'm ready to regain control of my life and start over with you."

This is what I've waiting to hear for months. I got her and we can be happy together.
