Ceelin
When I entered the house, I saw Mom and Lucy in the living room. The latter's smile immediately widened when she saw me. She must have expected that my innocence was already ruined.
"You didn't come home last night, Ceelin. It seems you enjoyed yourself a lot last night," Lucy smiled as she spoke to me.
I clenched my fists tightly. I approached her and without a word gave her a strong slap.
"Are you crazy, Ceelin? Why did you hit me?" she stood up angrily and glared at me.
"How dare you slap my daughter!" Mom angrily glared at me too. She speaks like Lucy was just her daughter while I'm not. "What did she do to make you slap her?"
"What's going on here?" asked Daddy, who had just come out of the study room. He must have heard the loud voices of the two women that's why he suddenly came out.
Lucy slowly approached Daddy. "Dad, Ceelin slapped me. I don't know what I did wrong with her," she complained, acting pitiful to gain our father's sympathy. But she doesn't have to act pitiful in front of Dad because he will always side with her no matter what happens.
Daddy angrily faced me and slapped me. "Ungrateful, woman! We fed you and let you live in our house, and then you hurt my daughter?"
"You hurt me without even knowing why I slapped Lucy, Dad? And why you and Mom talk like I'm not your child?" I asked him bitterly. "Tell me, Dad. Am I really your biological daughter?"
"You have no right to question us, Ceelin. Just be grateful that we raised you," Daddy hissed. "Apologize to your sister right now!" he ordered firmly.
"It's not my fault so I won't apologize to her. She deserved that slap." Even if they force me, I won't apologize to Lucy.
Daddy's face darkened and slapped me again. My face suddenly felt numb. Whether it was Lucy's fault or not, my parents still sided with her. My sister must be feeling happy because she has parents who are ready to defend her even if she's in the wrong.
Lucy secretly sneered at me. Her smile wanted to convey to me that even if she did something wrong to me, I couldn't hurt her because our parents were the ones backing her.
"You've already broken my connection with the Salvatores and you want to hurt Lucy? You're really not afraid of anyone, Ceelin!"
"Dad, Lucy asked a man to rape me. If Phil hadn't come, that man would have definitely succeeded in his plan to ruin my innocence. What do you want me to do? I'll just laugh at what your beloved daughter did?" I angrily replied to my father. "She should be grateful that I didn't call the police to have her arrested. But if she does what she did again, I assure you that she will be taken to jail," I sternly threatened. Without saying goodbye, I turned my back on them and climbed the stairs.
"Try to let your sister be arrested and we will disown you, Ceelin!" I heard Daddy shout. "If you don't want to marry Phil, then Lucy will marry her. She deserves Phil more than you!" he continued.
I ignored Daddy's words. But from what I can see of Phil's personality, it's unlikely he would agree to marry Lucy.
When I entered my room, I immediately sat on the bed and took a deep breath to calm my boiling blood. My parents were biased. But what could I expect from them? They wouldn't hurt Lucy just to give me justice.
I took another deep breath when I suddenly thought of Phil. I remembered what he had said to me earlier. He offered to marry me so I could leave this house. His father was pressuring him to get married so he wanted to marry me. But didn't he hate me because of my parents? So why did he suddenly propose marriage to me?
"Aahh!" I groaned loudly. I threw my body on the bed. Marrying Phil was the only way to make me leave this house without having to suffer financially outside. As his wife, it was his obligation to support me. But if I agreed to his offer, I would still be his wife like in my past life. I did everything I could to ruin my parents' plans but I ended up marrying him again. I don't want to be his wife once again.
Phil said we would only be husband and wife on paper. I am not obligated to fulfill the obligations of a real wife. We can still do whatever we want. We will only be husband and wife in front of his family. And after a year we can file for divorce.
I didn't realize that I had just fallen asleep thinking about Phil's offer to me. It was four o'clock in the afternoon when I woke up. I immediately took a shower before going down to the living room. My forehead wrinkled when I heard my father talking to an old man and they mentioned my name.
Daddy stood up with a smile and approached me when she saw me. He pulled me in front of the old man who was smiling and looking at me with a lustful expression. I suddenly felt nervous at the way the old man was looking at me. There was a maliciousness in the way his gaze was sweeping over my entire body. He seemed satisfied by what he saw.
"I want you to meet your fiancé, Ceelin. He is Carlos Ricafort. He owns the biggest golf course in our area," Dad introduced the old man to me with a smile. "Mr. Ricafort, this is Ceelin. My beloved daughter. From now on, you will be in charge of her."
My blood immediately boiled when I heard what Daddy said. He didn't succeed in getting me married to Phil, so like a dog, he just gave me away to the old man in front of me. He wanted to take advantage of me.
"Congratulations, Ceelin. Finally, you will have a husband. I hope you will be a good wife to Mr. Ricafort," Lucy said with a teasing smile. She was teasing me because an old man would be my husband.
"Don't embarrass us when you marry Mr. Ricafort, Ceelin. You should always obey whatever your husband wants you to do," my mother said.
I was scorned by them. I didn't agree to be the wife of Phil who is a handsome and young man, and then they are going to marry me to an old man? What do they think of me? A fool?
"Don't worry, Ceelin. I will always love you. As long as you give me what I want, especially at night," Mr. Ricafort told me. He gave me a smile that made my body shiver. I felt disgusted.
My hair suddenly stood up when Mr. Ricafort grabbed my hand and squeezed it slightly. I couldn't help but slap him.
"Are you crazy, Ceelin? He is your fiancé! You should behave from now on!" Daddy angrily scolded me before facing Mr. Ricafort who had a dark face. "I'm sorry, Mr. Ricafort. My daughter was just shocked. But I assure you that she will marry you."
"Make sure that will happen, Delfin. Because if Ceelin doesn't become my wife, I will take back the five million I gave you," the old man threatened my Daddy.
"You sold me for five million to that dirty old man, Dad? How could you do that to me?" I couldn't help but ask my father.
"You're all grown up now, Ceelin. It's time for you to repay us for raising you," Dad said to me with a dark face.
"Don't be ungrateful, Ceelin. You should be grateful instead because you won't be poor with Mr. Ricafort. He will give you all the luxuries in your body," Mommy said with a slight sneer.
"So you mean, I should say thank you for selling me to that old man, Mom?" I sneered back at her. "Why are you using me to make money? Do you really have no conscience? How did you sell your own child?"
"Don't play tricks on us, Ceelin. I tell you to marry Mr. Ricafort, so you will marry him no matter what happens. That's the end of our conversation!" Dad's final decision.
"Over my dead body, Dad! I will never marry that old man!" I insisted firmly.
Dad's hand suddenly flew to my face. "Disobey me and I will disown you and throw you out of my house! You will end up living on the street and begging for food like a beggar!"
I secretly cursed them. What kind of family are they? Why are they evil?
"Just accept your fate, Ceelin. It was your fate to marry an old man while I'm destined to marry a handsome young man like Phil," Lucy sneered at me.
Shit! I will not agree with this marriage arrangement. And I could only think of one way to avoid becoming the dirty old man's wife.
