Ceelin
"I agree to marry you," I said to Phil without hesitation. I called him earlier and met with him to tell him about my decision.
I was sure that my parents would not allow me to not marry that old man, so I had no choice but to accept Phil's offer. I will be his contractual wife.
"A-Are you sure about your decision? You can't back down once you agree to marry me," Phil assured me. We were now inside his car after I let him pick me up at the place I told him earlier.
I suddenly thought for a moment. I felt myself wondering if I would regret marrying him. Even if I were to be Phil's wife again in my life now, as long as I don't fall in love with him I would avoid being bullied by his mother and younger sister.
"Yes. I'm sure. But I have three conditions to ask of you," I replied after a few minutes of thought.
"Tell me your conditions. I will try to fulfill them as long as it is within my power."
"Okay. My conditions are, first, I don't want to live in your house together with your parents and siblings. I want us to separate from them. Second, don't fall in love with me. And lastly, I don't want our marriage to be public," I told him seriously.
Phil just smiled. He nodded but didn't comment on what I said. It meant he approved of the condition I was asking for.
"Do you have your ID with you now?" he suddenly asked me.
"Yes. Why?" I asked him with a furrowed forehead.
"Let's go and get married right now."
Are we getting married tonight? Is he crazy? Would anyone agree to marry us this quickly? And at what time is it now?
Although I wasn't sure if anyone would rush us into marriage, I just let Phil do what he wanted. It would be better if we got married early. Once Phil and I were married, there was nothing my parents could do. They wouldn't force me to marry that old man. And the man Lucy wanted to marry would be mine. I would hit two birds with one stone.
I was already impressed by the strength of Phil's connection. In less than an hour, we were already married. And our marriage was legal because a judge married us with Phil's assistant as our witness.
"You will move into my house right now. You don't need to live together with my family because I have several houses everywhere. But it's better to live in my house which is close to your university. So you won't have any trouble going to school," he said after our wedding.
I only discovered now that he was considerate. In my last life, he didn't care about me. He didn't care even if his mother and sister hurt me. He doesn't care what I feel.
"Okay. I will move into your house." Phil accompanied me to pick up my things from our house. But I didn't let him inside the house. I told him to just wait for me until I got out.
"Just call me if you need my help to deal with your family," Phil reminded me as I got out of his car. I just nodded in response to what he said.
I took a deep breath before walking towards our house. I was sure that they were angry with me, especially my Dad. I had run away from them earlier while talking to Mr. Ricafort.
I carefully opened the door to the house. I took a deep sigh when I saw that they were not in the living room. Maybe they were already in their room and resting. I entered quickly but cautiously and went to my room. I only had one suitcase because I didn't have many things in my room. I was out of my room in less than fifteen minutes.
"Where do you think you're going, Ceelin?" My father was furious with me when he caught me walking down the stairs. I was unlucky because he saw me trying to run away from home.
"She's going to escape, Dad!" Don't let her escape!" Lucy shouted at our father.
"I'm not going to marry that old man, Dad. Lucy is more suitable for that man. You should let her marry him instead," I told Daddy before I hurried down the stairs.
"Stop her!" Dad sternly ordered the two maids in the living room. "If she escapes, you will be responsible for it," he threatened them.
The two maids were scared and stopped me. They held both of my arms tightly. When Daddy approached me, he gave me a strong slap. With the strength of his hand, I fell to the floor with my suitcase.
"I would rather die than marry that old man, Dad!" I said angrily to my father.
Daddy approached me and pulled my hair tightly. "You can't die until you pay back the expenses we spent on raising you. Do you understand? So whether you like it or not, you will marry Mr. Ricafort!"
Dad let go of my hair after pressing my face against the suitcase.
"Why did I have an ungrateful child like you? We are so unlucky to have you as our daughter, Ceelin!" Mommy said. She went down the stairs with Lucy.
I smiled mockingly at my mother. "Shouldn't I be the one to say that, Mom? I am so unlucky to have you and dad as my parents. I would have preferred if you had just covered my nose and mouth when I was a baby so I wouldn't have grown up and experienced your cruelty to me!"
Mommy came up to me and slapped me three times in a fit of rage. "You have no right to talk to me like that because you're just my daughter! And we'll do whatever we want to do with you. If we tell you to marry Mr. Ricafort, then you'll marry him!"
"Maybe Ceelin has found a boyfriend that's why she doesn't want to marry Mr. Ricafort, Mom. Let's just not force her if she doesn't want to," Lucy told Mommy before throwing me a silly smile.
"No one can benefit you but us, Ceelin!" Dad said. In his eyes, I was just something useful that could bring him benefits.
"Who are you proud of, Ceelin? Tell us his name. Do you believe that I can make him disappear in this world without a trace?" Mommy's voice asked me threateningly.
I smiled mockingly at them even though. "I doubt that you can make him disappear, Mom. You can't afford to offend him. And for your information, I could no longer marry that old man because I had already gotten married to someone else."
"What? You are secretly married to another man?" Daddy replied angrily. In his anger, his heavy palm flew over my face again. My face was so numb. I could also taste the salty blood in my mouth. Father was so heartless.
We all looked at the door when it suddenly opened and the man my parents couldn't afford to offend entered our house with a dark face.
"How dare you lay your hands on my wife!!!"
