Ceelin
Phil's face was dark and his teeth gritted as he entered the house. Following him was Larry, his assistant. He was also Phil's assistant in my last life.
"What did you say, Phil? Ceelin is your wife?" My father's eyes widened. He clearly couldn't believe what he just heard.
"No! It can't be!" Lucy shook her head firmly. "Ceelin can't be Phil's wife. Doesn't she hate Phil? Didn't she refuse to marry him last time?"
"Larry!" Phil called out loudly to his assistant. "You know what you're going to do."
"Yes, Sir," Larry quickly replied. He approached my parents and younger sister and gave each of them a strong slap in the face. Phil approached me and lifted me into his arms.
The three of them couldn't complain because they couldn't afford to offend someone like Phil Salvatore. They could only swallow their anger towards me.
"I want the three of you to apologize to my wife!" Phil ordered in a loud voice. My dad didn't hesitate to apologize to me. He knows the consequences if he disobeys my husband.
"I'm sorry, Ceelin. It was Daddy's fault. I didn't know you were already Phil's wife. If I had known, I wouldn't have forced you to be Mr. Ricafort's wife. I hope you'll forgive me. We are family, after all," my father apologized humbly.
"I won't apologize to her, Dad! She's not my real—" Lucy's protest was cut short when Daddy slapped her.
"Shut up your mouth! Quickly apologize to your sister!" he hissed. He looked as if he was afraid of something. Maybe he was afraid of what Phil might do if Lucy didn't apologize to me.
"I'm sorry, Ceelin," Lucy said through her nose as she apologized to me.
"You too. You should apologize to Ceelin," Daddy turned to my mother.
"I'm sorry for hitting you, Ceelin." Like Lucy, Mommy's apology was also out of her nose. It was obvious that she was just being forced to apologize. But I didn't care if they were forced or not. I felt very satisfied to see them looking very humble in front of me.
"From now on, I am cutting off any ties I have with your family. I am no longer a Miller so don't bother me anymore," I told them in a stern tone.
"You can't do this, Ceelin. We are your family. We raised you. We love you and—" My father seemed to back away when Phil's sharp and threatening gaze caught him. He just bowed again and didn't continue what he was saying.
"The next time I find out you hurt my wife, I assure you that you will not like what I do," Phil threatened. "And before I forget, don't call me by my first name again as if you are close to me. Do you understand?"
"Yes, Mr. Salvatore," my father replied with his head bowed. How brave he had been with me earlier, he was like a meek lamb now in front of Phil.
Without saying goodbye, Phil left the house while carrying me. Larry immediately picked up my suitcase and followed us. Phil carefully put me inside the car and fastened the seatbelt on my body.
After putting my suitcase in the car compartment, Larry immediately got into the car and drove the vehicle. Phil's car entered an exclusive subdivision. I refrained from commenting because the subdivision we entered was the most expensive subdivision in the country. Only a few families live in this subdivision and only millionaires and billionaires can afford to live in this very expensive area.
The car stopped in front of a villa. Phil immediately got out and carefully carried me inside the villa. He sat me on the large sofa in the spacious living room.
"Is this your villa?" I asked Phil in a low voice.
"Yes. And from now on, this villa is also yours. All the property I have is also yours," he replied with a smile. I just lowered my eyes and didn't comment on what he said.
I had the opportunity to look around when Phil left me. No wonder Lucy wants to be Phil's wife. Everything I see around me is very expensive. If Phil does become Lucy's husband, she will live like a queen. She could afford the luxuries of her body.
"This is not all that Sir Phil owns, Madam. He also owns an expensive penthouse, private helicopter, airplane, several limited edition luxury cars, countless businesses, and of course, he is the CEO of the Salvatore Group," Larry said with a smile. I was surprised by the properties of Phil that Larry mentioned. I only now discovered that he and his family are that rich. No wonder my dad would do everything just to have a connection with Phil's family.
"Take Ceelin's suitcase to her room and then you can leave," Phil ordered Larry when he returned. He was carrying a cold ice pack and a medicine kit.
"Yes, Sir." Larry immediately complied to follow Phil's instructions.
Without a word, Phil sat down next to me and turned me to face him. He carefully place the ice pack to my swollen cheek. I gasped when I felt the cold ice packed in my skin.
"Let me do it myself." I felt awkward because Phil was staring at me while applying the ice pack to the wound on the side of my lips and my cheek.
"Don't move," he said shortly. I just clenched my fist and let him treat my wound. I turned my eyes in another direction and avoided looking at his face. "Next time, when your family or anyone else hurts you again, you don't have to endure it. Hit them back. Don't worry about the consequences because I will be your strong support. I won't let anyone bully you. I won't let you suffer injustice."
I stared at Phil's face because of what he said. It was as if a warm hand had touched my heart. He would be my strong support? It was so nice to hear. It was the first time I had experienced someone willing to support and defend me. And I never expected to hear those words from the person who killed me in my last life. It made me wonder if he was really the person who killed me in my last life?
