The family was gathered around the table for breakfast. The table had been expanded to make room for the new guests that were in the house. Jasmin and Marion were sitting as close together as their chairs would allow. Marion had been stiff and uncertain of being in the pack house at first, but after a few days she had begun to relax. Lori was on the other side of Jasmin, still doing her duty as Jasmin’s faithful “assistant.” Caleb had taken his position opposite Eudora. He was as solemn and serious as ever.
