Chapter1
A Twist of Fate
Kayla and Jackson, my foster parents, had always promised to take care of me.
But little did I know that their true intentions were far from kind. One fateful day, they called me into the living room, their faces grim with an air of secrecy.
Amelia sat down at the end of the room so focused on the magazine she was reading as she acted like she didn’t notice my presence.
I had gotten used to her rude attitude already and I didn’t care.
"Scarlet," Jackson said, his voice heavy with a mix of guilt and determination, "we have made a difficult decision."
Confusion gripped my heart as I listened to their words.
They explained that they had arranged a marriage for me with Alpha Devon, a man known for his cruelty and power. It felt like a nightmare, a betrayal of the love I had believed they had for me.
“What do you mean marriage? Mom, can you ask dad what’s going on? Did I offend you guys, if I did I’m sorry, you don’t have to do this.” I muttered still finding it hard to believe if they were serious or they were just joking with me.
I saw the beam on Amelia’s face as she listened to the conversation keenly.
Tears welled up in my eyes as I pleaded with them, begging for an explanation.
But their hearts had hardened, and they saw this as an opportunity for their own gain. They spoke of wealth, status, and the benefits that would come from this union.
“We’ve made our decision and it’s all going to be over soon, once you provide an heir for the Alpha, you’ll be free to do anything you want.”Kayla muttered as I scoured into her eyes wondering if she ever cared about me.
At that moment, I felt like a pawn in their game, a piece to be sacrificed for their ambitions. The world around me blurred as I tried to comprehend the magnitude of their betrayal.
How could they do this to me?
Why?
We all knew the tales of Aloha Devon and how he was the cruelest Alpha to be known.
But deep within me, a fire ignited.
I refused to accept my fate as a victim. I knew I had to find a way to escape this cruel destiny.
With each passing moment, my determination grew stronger, and I vowed to fight for my freedom.
“I won’t get married, and you won’t force me to.” I yelled out loud and stormed out of their presence.
“Leave her alone, she’ll come into her senses soon.”
As the sun set and darkness engulfed the room, I made a silent promise to myself. I would not let their greed and cruelty define my life.
I would find a way to break free from their clutches and forge my own path, no matter the obstacles that lay ahead.
And so, with a heavy heart and a resolute spirit, I began to plan my escape, knowing that my journey would be filled with challenges, but also with the hope of a brighter future.

As I stood there, my heart pounding in my chest, I watched as Alpha Devon's men arrived at our doorstep.
Fear gripped me, but I refused to let it consume me. I turned to Kayla and Jackson’s , my foster parents, desperation evident in my voice.
"Jackson’s , Kayla, please reconsider this decision," I pleaded, my voice trembling. "I thought you loved me, that you cared for my well-being. How can you hand me over to such a cruel man?" I inquired with my voice trembling so hard.
Kayla's eyes filled with tears, but her resolve remained unyielding. "Scarlet , we have no choice. It's for the best," she said, her voice cracking with a mix of sorrow and guilt.
I wasn’t a fool to think she instigated this. After all, I wasn't her biological child was i? I didn’t expect anything more from them.
"But I'm not a possession to be traded!" I cried out, my voice echoing through the room. "I deserve to choose my own path, to find love and happiness on my own terms."
Jackson's face hardened, his voice stern. "This is the only way, Scarlet . Alpha Devon's power is immense, and we cannot go against him. It's for your own safety."
The weight of their words crushed me, but I refused to accept defeat. With each passing moment, the realization dawned on me that I had to fight for my freedom, even if it meant going against the people I once considered family.
As Alpha Devon's men approached, I turned to them, my voice filled with determination.
"I won't go willingly. You can take me by force if you must, but I will never submit to a life of misery and oppression." I yelled on top of my lungs as tears gathered at the corner of my eyes.
I felt heartbroken and betrayed. I thought they were my family, how could they do this to me?
Tears streamed down my face as I looked back at Kayla and Jackson’s , their faces etched with a mix of sorrow and regret. "I trusted you," I whispered, my voice barely audible. "But I will find a way to escape this fate, with or without your help." I yelled on top of my tone.
“You wouldn't have done this to me if I was your daughter would you?” I snapped as the clutches of his men dug into my skin.
“You know I Would have never done this to you Scarlet.” Jackson muttered.
“Yes I know and yet your own daughter is just here to watch it.” I muttered.
With that, I took a deep breath, steeling myself for the unknown path that lay ahead. As Alpha Devon's men closed in, I knew that my fight for freedom had only just begun. I would not let their cruelty define me.
I would reclaim my life and shape my own destiny.
