Cooking At Home

As class ended Honey tugged on my sleeve, “I have soccer practice can you stay and watch me?” “I don’t know Honey I have my sisters and I don’t want to keep Ida out too late.” “I forgot about Ida and Estella for a second. It’s fine I understand. Could you guys try and visit our home games?” Honey asked with puppy eyes. “If it’s on a school night like Monday - Wednesday, then no any other day is fine.” He jumped up causing the two of us to get stares but as usual, I didn’t care. It’s getting pretty annoying though, “we’ll I’ll see you tomorrow. Good luck at practice!” I placed a kiss on his cheek as I walked away. “Beautiful! There you are! Come on. I’ll walk you and your sisters home, since Honey has practice and Daisuke has to talk to your counselor.” I nodded at Ezra’s words. “Alright, I’ll tell Stella to grab Ida and the four of us can just head home together from there.” Ezra nodded as we started walking to the front of the school, “Hey Ezra... thank you, for doing this and helping me remember things.” I wrapped my arm around his arm as we walked to Ida’s school. “It’s cause you never gave up on me. You were always by my side helping me get better and do better, You’re compassionate and loving Asteria y por eso me enamoré de ti.” He said the last part in Spanish and I didn’t understand. “What does that mean?” “If you learned Spanish then you would know,” Ezra said with a cocky smirk. “Asshole.” I said punching his shoulder, “I know a little Spanish, like some words, but I can’t form or understand sentences.” I explained and his smirk widened. “That’s tough.” I punched him harder and he laughed as we reached Ida’s school to see Estella and Ida at the front. As soon as Stella noticed us she glared at me, “You two sure as hell took your time.” “Sorry, that was my fault. I’ll carry Ida and her stuff to make up for it.” I was going to interject the idea, but Ezra already grabbed Ida and her bag. “Thank you.” We both say as the three of us start walking to my house, “Hey Ezra. Are you doing anything later?” Estella asked and I looked at her, she only made an innocent-looking face before looking to Ezra. “I’m free for the rest of the day why?” “Cool that means you can stay for dinner,” Estella said it so casually and innocently, but we both knew that was not the case. “You don’t have to accept, plus it’s so last minute.” Stella glared at me but turned to Ezra expectantly and he shrugged. “I’m down.” Ezra said with a shrug of his shoulders and he turned to me, “I can cook with you if you want.” Ezra said with a smile. “I couldn’t make you cook, that would be rude of me.” “It’s not rude if I’m offering to help.” He said with a wink and I nodded in agreement. Estella wiggled her eyebrows at me and for some reason this time it didn’t annoy me. We reached the house and enter, “You can give me Ida’s stuff so I can put it away.” Ezra nodded and handed me her bag. Estella, Ida, and I head upstairs. Once we reach the top of the stairs I flick Estella’s forehead. “I deserved that, but I really like Ezra and the others.” “Clearly, you couldn’t have asked me this morning or something? It’s fine though, I don’t mind, just talk to me before you do something rash.” Estella nodded and went into their room, “Give me a sec Ezra let me change my clothes.” I yelled down and I walked to my room. I changed into a yellow, floral print mini drawstring ruffle spaghetti strap dress before calling Ezra upstairs to chill for a little bit before we had to cook dinner. I stood at the top of the stairs waiting for him. As he reached the top of the stairs his face flushes red and I step closer to him in confusion. I don’t understand he was just fine a couple of seconds ago, “Ezra are you alright?” Ezra nodded as he continued to look away from me, “Motherfucking peachy.” He said with an okay symbol as he walked into my room. I shrugged at his odd behavior and followed him into my room. Ezra was just standing next to my bed, looking at everything in my room, “I can’t believe you’re back. I really missed you.” Ezra said turning around and pulling me into a tight hug as he fell back onto my bed. I hugged him tighter as we fell and stayed there as we landed on the soft bed, “I missed you too Ezra.” I picked my head up to look at him, “We have a couple of hours before we have to make dinner. We can watch some movies who knows, might help me remember something. Or talk if you’d like.” I ended with a smile looking up at him “You’re really determined to get your memories back.” Ezra pointed out. “Yea,” I paused to sit up, “I’m just tired of having my memories missing, I want to talk about the s**t we used to do without having a blank face, I want to join the conversation instead of sitting to the side confused and angry. I- I probably sound ridiculous.” I said turning on the tv before he could say anything, “Let’s watch Godzilla.” I felt Ezra nod as I scrolled over to the desired Godzilla movie I wanted to put on to avoid this conversation from continuing. The room was tense and awkward as we watched the movie. Me and big mouth, goddamnit. “Asteria?” Ezra called out softly. I wanted to ignore him, but he kept speaking and poking me. “Whaaaaa Ezra?” I whined out and faced him. “You could’ve told me- or any of us, that’s why we’re here,” Ezra said as he nuzzled into the back of my neck. I giggled as I lightly pushed his head away to look at him. “I know. I don’t always want to bother you guys.” “That’s what we’re here for,” Ezra said as he pulled me closer to his body. I simply nodded as I began to fall asleep. His scent making me fall asleep slowly. He smells so nice. “Wake me up so we can start cooking dinner.” Ezra made a sound that rumbled in his chest that made me nuzzle into him further and close my eyes. I awoke several hours later and immediately jumped up. Why didn’t Ezra wake me up? I rush downstairs, almost busting my ass as I walked into the kitchen only to see Ezra walking around looking for items. “Ezra, why didn’t you wake me up?” “You needed the sleep.” “But the kids need to eat.” “I’ve been figuring out your kitchen layout. I already started on dinner.” He said with a smirk and a wink. I felt my face warm up slightly, “Whatever asshat, scoot over. Lemme help.” “You don’t even know what I’m making.” I shrugged and walked further into my kitchen. “I’ll pick up on it.” I smiled up at him and this time he flushed red as he started to show me what he was making.
