My Friends

Dai and I walked my sisters to their schools and dropped them off, so it was just Dai and walking, it was quiet but it wasn't weird.

"I don't bite you know. At least not much." Dai said as we got closer to school making me slow down beside him.

"What do you mean?" I asked genuinely confused.

"Nothing. Forget it, come on so you can find Honey." Dai answered walking faster.

"Thank you, Daisuke. I don't know why your being nicer to me, but as I said I like our relationship, come on Powdered Doughnut. You're not doing a good job of walking me to school if I'm by myself." He just looked at me and kept a straight face, but I swear that saw his cheeks flush pink as we walked into school.

I walk to my locker seeing Rodas digging through his locker and I'm about to call out to him, someone came over and pushed him into his locker, making the hallway grow quiet and watch the scene before them.

The person who pushed Rodas, pulled him out and shoved him to the floor. The guy who shoved Rodas talks, "You think if you dress like a boy, that would help you? You must be dumber than I thought. You snitched and your face could use some color on it."

The guy went to punch Rodas, but I threw my backpack at him and stepped forward to help Rodas up.

"Asteria, you shouldn't have done that. I would've been fine." I ignored Rodas as I stood in front of him and looked down on the bully.

"Leave my friend alone." The guy looked at me and then laughed.

"Oh, that's so cute! Another little girl who doesn't know her place. What was it now? Rodas? You're such a coward." Rodas said nothing as he looked away.

"At least Rodas knows a bitches place." I felt myself grow irritated at this guy.

"Who are you and why are you being such a d**k to Rodas?" The guy laughed again.

"I rule this school, you must be new to not know how things are run around here. What I say goes. I do what I want around here and you either follow or get beat up. Rodas would know. She also must think wrapping her t**s up are gonna change the fact that she's a bitch." At the end of his sentence, he got closer to me grabbed my upper arm, and tightly squeezed it.

I kicked his left knee back and made a fist knocking him to the side, he fell to the floor and looked up at me in anger, he got up and I stood my ground watching as he wound up his hand to slap me, but in a blur, he's on the ground with Honey and Ezra holding his arms down as Dai straddled him, repeatedly punching him. I pull Rodas with me to the nurse's office.

The nurse wasn't in the office so I decided to help myself to the cabinets to help Rodas. It was silent as I'm looking around, I find what I'm looking for and return to him.

"I knew our senior year was gonna be hectic, but not like this." Rodas began with a dry chuckle, "Why did you help me? I could've taken the beating-"

"I stepped so you won't get hurt. You're my friend. I don't wanna see you get hurt. I can kinda be impulsive about things like this."

"Thank you. I'm surprised that your not hurting me or getting upset about me being a girl."

I shook my head, "If you identify as a guy then you're a guy. Who am I to say anything about it? You don't have to tell me anything, cause there's nothing to really know, but I have to say, you're still the most handsome guy I've met though." I placed the wrapped ice pack on his forehead.

"Damn, thought that title belonged to me." A voice spoke from the doorway. It was Ezra.

"You're handsome too. Rodas is more handsome."

"Yea he would be if he took off that sweater vest. It's too hot for sweaters." Rodas and I looked at one another and laughed.

"Go ahead and rest Rodas. I'll check up on you later. Come on Ezra we have class."

He nodded and I waved goodbye to Rodas as we walked into the now empty hallways. I walk toward my locker and I see Honey and Dai standing by it. I give Dai a quick glance over, seeing a little splash of blood contrasting against his pale skin. I reach out with my sleeve over my fingers and wipe his face before turning back to my locker.

I look at the floor and see splashes of blood, "Where's the douche bag?" I asked closing my locker. I see a slight smile pulling on Honey's face at my question.

"He's on the flag pole outside. Everybody's out there watching him make a fool out of himself, so I guess today nobody is going to class for right now." Honey responded.

"The three of you guys dragged him to the flag pole and hung him there? Oh, that's priceless, I gotta see this." I say flabbergasted.

"Come on Tsubaki, before they decide he's had enough and put him down." I let the nickname go this time as the three boys lead me to the flag pole in the back of the school.

I heard laughing and I see the guy hanging and thrashing around from his underwear. I whipped out my phone and snapped a picture of the sight and sent it to Rodas hoping to cheer him up. I turned to the boys to see them huddled and talking, I couldn't hear what they were talking about, but I couldn't help but smile and snap a photo of them.

The principal finally came out and waved his hand, shooing us back to our classes with a smile. The four of us back into the school laughing at the events that transpired, "Tomorrow's Friday Mini-Titaness we have a club." Honey said as we walked.

"Occult comes first, so don't forget you got that with me Tsubaki," Dai said quickly after.

"If I'm being honest I'm more excited to go to the Occult club. " Honey gasped dramatically as Dai smirked and Ezra laughed, but he was cut off by the loudspeaker activating.

"THERE WILL BE NO MORE CLASS FOR THE REST OF THE DAY. ANY CLUBS WILL ALSO BE CANCELLED."

Honey smirked, while Dai's eyes twitched, "Shut up Honey. Let's go pick up your sisters Asteria."

"You're crazy to think your walking Asteria by yourself. That's not your thing with her."

I lift an eyebrow and speak, " Oh so you guys definitely plan this s**t. How about we all walk home together if your not busy or gone by then? It's fair for everyone and I get to spend time with everyone." I said walking to the nurse's office.

"Wait we're supposed to go home."

"I said, everyone. That includes Rodas." I heard some slaps but I continued into the office, seeing Rodas grabbing his stuff.

"Hey." he jumped but smiled as he saw me, "We're walking home together. I'm thinking we should drop you off first though."

"You, don't have to," I shot him a look, "Thank you." we walked out to the other boys in the hallway.

We walked to Estella's classroom and went to Ida's school to pick her up, "I wonder why school ended early today."

"Who knows. Come on Rodas lives at the very end of this street. We can drop him off and ditch him." Dai said receiving a punch from Honey, Ezra, and Rodas, "We're all thinking the same thing." Only to get punched harder.

"Your friends are funny Asteria. Good job on not only finding cute people, but funny people." I almost tripped over the sidewalk at Estella's words, while the others laughed.

"I was gonna take y'all to the park, but on second thought..."

"Right, never comment on your life got it. Let's drop off Rodas!" Estella said grabbing at Rodas' arm and walking faster making the rest of us laugh.
