A Blessing

Jaxon's POV: Nate, Taylor, and I approached the steps as the alpha and his men walked toward us. "Evening, I'm Alpha Jaxon of the Darkwoods pack, and I am here to see Eva," I recognize two of them from the club. One of them is her brother. Her name is Evangeline to you! He shouted through clenched teeth. Is that pup challenging me! I hear Alistair "Calm down, Dan." One of them said "I'm Alpha Kane; this is the Moonlight pack, "he said, looking at me, sizing me up. He's tall, about 6'3", and still a couple of inches shorter than me. It's clear, that he is the alpha. "I didn't come here for trouble, just her for my mate." "Well, Alpha Jaxon, you show up on my territory unannounced at night and make demands; what reason do I have to listen to you?" He stated. Great! An alpha with pride. "Alpha Jaxon, if time had permitted, we would have made proper arrangements, but here we are. I would like to speak to my mate." I replied. "You will not do sh*t," added the other wolf from the club, who was not the brother. These wolves are trying my patience, and Alistair is pushing to the surface. He can sense her inside the packhouse. Before I could speak up, "We came all this; why not let them decide if they want to speak to each other?" Suggested Nate. Nate POV: This was not looking good; we showed up on their land, unannounced and uninvited. No doubt these guys wanted blood. I have to stop this before this goes really wrong. "Why don't you and your men get off our land? She came home because you didn't accept the bind, so why are you even here?" asked the other wolf next to his alpha. "That is none of your d*mn business." Jaxon fired back at him. Alistair pushes to the surface. "You will not keep me from my mate, you pups!" He growls out. I hear the door to the packhouse open, and a group of women are standing there, including the luna. The Moonlight wolves form a semi-circle in front of the door, keeping the women inside. That was all it took. "You will not keep me from my mate!" I saw Alistair's eyes turn yellow then black; f*ck too late. Alistair is forcing a shift and taking control. Half shifted, claws on both hands elongated, and canines ready to rip everyone to shreds. Half-shifting is rare and does not happen often; ranked wolves can half shift. But it only happens under three circumstances: When a wolf is forcing a shift, when that wolf is experiencing something so strong/substantial that they are about to lose control, and lastly, if a wolf has the Lycan gene, they can partially shift by choice. When a wolf is partially shifted, they are not fully aware of their actions, and I know this will be a blood bath. I jumped in front of him, and he swiped at me, tearing into my chest and causing me to fall to my knee. F*ck that hurt, getting back up in front of him "Alistair, you have to give Jax back control." I see the wolves from Moonlight start to shift and Taylor along with them. Leaving me as the only sane person left outside. Eva's POV: We were almost done with the movie when we started hearing shouting outside, voices arguing. We looked at each other, and I got up and started walking toward the door. I opened the door to the horrifying site of Nate bleeding from his chest, Jaxon with blood on his claws, eyes so dark it was clear that he was no longer in control. With my alpha and brothers about to face off with my mate. I stepped outside, and Jane grabbed my arm "EVA." I shrugged it off and walked onto the porch. Jax's wolf attempts to move toward me, causing Kane, Dan, Brendan and Chris to shift. Form a semi-circle in front of their mates and me. Kane's large white wolf crouches getting to attack. I have to stop this. Jax's wolf moved towards us, and Kane's wolf lunged at him, pushing him back. Another wolf I don't recognize jumps at Kane. Brendan's brown wolf runs towards the unknown wolf. This is getting out of control. I saw the women I love, looking on in terror, Dan and Kane's wolves looking at Jax, and I knew they were going to attack. So far, it was just defensive fighting, but Jax's wolf was getting angrier, which put him and my pack in danger. I saw them charge at Jax's wolf. I ran between them; why did I do that? Because I can't have my brother and alpha kill my mate in front of our packhorse. Kane and Dan stopped right before they slammed into me. Turning, I see a half-shifted Jax, shirt ripped, bloody claws and snarling. I put my hand on his chest, feeling the sparks under my hand. "Eva, get back!" Dan warned, shifting back. "Luna, please let me handle this," said Nate. Ignoring them, I moved my hand up to his cheek and he leaned into my touch, making me smile slightly. His eyes turned back to blue. I put my arms around his neck, allowing him to breathe in my scent. "Please bring Jaxon back," I whispered. After a minute, I felt strong arms around me, sparks wrapping around my body. Looking up, I see that Jaxon had returned, and I stepped away. I turned around to face my pack. I noticed that everyone had shifted back and was wearing shorts. More warriors had gathered, ready to fight; they were now waiting for their alpha's command. I started walking back towards the packhouse. I felt a hand grab my hand. "Don't," he said, his eyes pleading. "Get your hand off of her," growled Dan. "ENOUGH! ALL OF YOU," I said. Casey walked toward Kane, " How about we all go inside and get some rest, and we can talk in the morning, she said while rubbing Kane's arm. "Will you be causing any more disruptions in my pack?" He questioned, looking at Jaxon. "No, I just want to talk to my mate." "It's settled; Emma will show you to your rooms." Emma nodded her head. As the delta female, it was her job to act as the gamma female since Dan had not yet found his mate. Part of the gamma female's duties is to take charge of the omegas and their schedules. So she knows which guest rooms are currently unoccupied. I let go of Jaxon's hand and walked toward Nate. "Let me take a look." "It's okay luna; it will heal." "Show me," I said. 'Don't worry about me; I'm used to it, luna." Use to it? Use to what? "Right now, I am your doctor. Show me!" "Yes, luna," he winces, pulling his shirt from the wounds. I see that the wounds are deep. "These need to be cleaned; they are going to take time to heal properly. Go to the living room and wait for me.” After Emma made arrangements for everyone, an omega ran upstairs to ensure the rooms were ready. Everyone was still on edge in the kitchen and living room and not talking. Brendan had Emma in front of him, his arms around her. Kane was rubbing Casey's bump and inhaling her scent. Dan had Jane on his lap, rubbing small circles on her back. Chris walked in after dismissing the warriors that had gathered. As delta, he was in charge of the pack safety after Brendan. The unknown wolf was looking nervous, almost worried. I recognized him, the wolf that separated me and that she-wolf. "That she-wolf owes you a thank you for saving her face," I said. Chuckling, "it's nice to know the luna packs a punch." "You both have to stop calling me that; it's Eva." "It's nice to officially meet you LU_ Eva. I'm Taylor." "Nice to meet you, Taylor," I said, walking towards Nate with the first aid kit. We kept it for the omegas, but it came in handy every once in a while for the rest of us too. Nate wasn't looking great. He was starting to sweat and breathing heavily. "Shirt off, please," I heard a low growl coming from Jaxon's direction. He was standing near one of the windows, alone. I can feel the guilt coming off of him. Nate grunted and peeled his first off. After disinfecting it, I put triple ointment on it and the largest gauze we had and wrapped it. "That should keep it from getting infected." "Our pack has been blessed by the moon goddess; we have a healer for a luna," he said softly. I walked towards the cabinets, pulled out 12 shot glasses, and poured 12 were-tequila shots. " Come on, everyone, grab on, not you, Casey!" So hesitantly, everyone walked to the island and took their shot, and I pushed the extra towards Jaxon; he took it with a nod. "Well, goodnight, everyone," said Molly, hugging me and helping Nate up the stairs along with Taylor. The ladies hugged me, and the guys kissed me on the head as they went to their suites. "Are you sure you're okay?" asked Jane before leaving. I gave her a small nod. She pulled Dan up the stairs. Leaving me along with Jaxon in the kitchen. While I washed the shot glasses and cleaned up a bit, I felt his eyes on me. When I was finished, I handed him a bottle of water. "I will show you to your room". He followed me up the stairs quietly. Jaxon's POV: As we walked, I couldn't help but admire her, how she handled Nate and the way she knew exactly what we all needed in the kitchen. She's perfect. She's wearing tight leggings and an oversized t-shirt, clearly not hers. Is it an ex's shirt? I quietly followed her, unsure what to say or where to start. We arrived at a door. "This is you," she stated plainly, and turned to leave, "Whose shirt is that?" She looked up at me with those beautiful and I wanted to pull her into my arms and talk to her. "Just because I calmed you earlier and prevented an all-out war between our packs, does not mean you can ask me questions like that," she replied, shutting me down and leaving me alone in the hallway.
