Changing Ceremony

Ashley looked at the rest of the Wolves of the Pack who were changing with her, and smiled knowing what was about to happen. She felt her wolf stirring, knowing the moon was about to rise.

'I am Lycan, not some measley wolf.'

'I don't even know your name.' Ashley said to her.

'My name is Selene.' her Lycan replied.

'Nice to meet you. Are we ready for this?' she asked.

Selene sighed. 'From the way we moved, I can tell you have trained for years. You want revenge for what happened?' she asked.

Ashley thought about it for a moment. 'No, not revenge. Those Vampires attacked on someone's orders. I want justice.' she said.

'Than do what you need to do.' Selene told her as she knew they had less than an hour till the moon rised.

Dominic walked up beside her, the werewolves that would shift already wracked with the pains of the first change. "Seems like Lycans are made of stronger stuff."

Ashley chuckled as she looked at him. "Probably helps that I changed this morning. It happened so quickly that I didn't even have a chance to realize I had changed at all. This will be interesting to change with the moon." she said as she turned to look at him. "Is everything ready?"

"It is, we will begin here in a few moments." he said as they began walking to the stage.

"Break a leg." she said as he walked onto it and stood at the microphone. As he did a light came on the camera, and she saw the screen flicker to life as the Royal Emergency Broadcast alerted all Packs an Alert was on its way. The screen changed to Alpha Dominic, and he looked grim.

"Brothers and sisters, Packs across the Nation, it is with a solemn heart that I must report that once again we are under attack from the Vampires. We have known for 13 years the day would come when these monsters would once again threaten our existence. We must all be vigilant, as these monsters are the greatest threat we have ever faced.

"We however have hope, as we move into the next chapter of this conflict. Long has it been hoped that one of the Family survived, and it was confirmed earlier today that the Vampires believe the same thing. We have confirmed that they are searching for who they refer to as The One.

"Today we call upon those who will stand with us against this terrible for to join us at the gathering place. Today is the day we have all hoped for, as we have found The One. The first proof is this broadcast over the Royal Emergency Broadcast. One of the Royal Family has indeed survived all these years, and this very night is what we have long waited for.

"Princess Ashley Lynn Frost survived the attack, and escaped with her life. Long has she been hidden from the world under a security program established by King Cameron before the birth of his Heirs Prince Mason and Princess Ashley. This morning the Vampires found our Pack, and as such we will be executing emergency measures after the conclusion of this Broadcast.

"Being transmitted now are the official documents of the Royal Lycan Pack, confirming the details and ID cards of the King, Queen, and Princess. Without further ado, I introduce Princess Ashley, Heir to King Cameron and the Royal Lycan Pack." he said as the entire pack began cheering as Ashley stepped onto the stage and walked to the microphone. They put a split screen of her and the Queen, and it was clear she was the daughter of her.

"Thank you Alpha Dominic, for those warm words and the safety your Pack has long afforded me. Earlier today the Vampires found that I did indeed survive that terrible night, and the 4 who did paid with their lives. Their hope to find and kill me prior to my first shift, has failed. On this very day my Lycan was forced to respond to this continued act of war against the entire Wolf Nation. For 13 years they have hounded us relentlessly as they searched for me, attempting to eliminate the threat we lose to them.

"Starting this very moment I call upon all Packs who are loyal to consider us at War with the Vampire Nation. Too long have they preyed on our fears, too long have we allowed them to suppress us from our true power.

"I travel to the Ancient Grounds of our ancestors, where by blood I will claim the Throne of my father. I will rise and seek justice for all those who have lost their lives because another of the Races believe us too weak to stop them. It is time that we showed them that no matter what they believe, we are strong. We are United! And no longer we will allow them to prey upon us without consequence.

"Protect your Packs, band together for greater strength. Ensure they will no longer take from us without paying a heavy price for their arrogance. Any who are loyal, you know how to establish contact through the emergency protocols." Ashley finished before she stepped back and walked over to join the dozen others who were shifting as well.

"For the final proof, we shall broadcast her change with the rise of her first full moon. Long Live the Lycan Nation!" Alpha Dominic said to the crowd.

"Long live Princess Ashley!" the crowd roared in reply as the camera panned to the changing Wolves.

They had timed the speeches perfectly so that once Ashley joined them the first Ray's of the the Moon Light fell upon all of the gathered Wolves. It forced the ones you had yet to change to begin the process. Ashley was not immune either as it was her first Full Moon.

'This shouldn't hurt to much.' Selene said to her as she pushed her way to the surface.

Ashley felt her bones rearrange, and was glad that Selene was right. It was uncomfortable for a few minutes as this change was far slower. She knelt down, the discomfort making it impossible to stand through the shift.

She could hear the bones of the Wolves around her as she felt her senses heighten, knowing she was fully in her Lycan Form. Her Aura began extending away from her, and the dozen wolves who were in their first shift suddenly no longer felt the pain of the first shift.

It took less than 5 minutes for all 13 of them to change. The 12 Wolves stood plain as day as Ashley lifted her head and began the Howl herself.

As soon as it was released, it was clear that it belonged to no ordinary Werewolf. She finally stood as she continued, the power of her Aura washing over them. All of them knelt before her, the power of a Royal Lycan making them submit. The cameras broadcast all of it, and the entire pack had been informed that when they started the Pack run, it was cover to evacuate the entire Pack. Most of the children and eldery had already been evacuated, the warriors were all that were here now. They feared as soon as this started the Vampires would be coming quickly.

They cut the feed as Ashley looked over them, and almost as one the rest of the Pack shifted. They ran out of the grounds and into the Pack territory, headed for the rugged mountains at the very border. They took paths they were seldom used, and an hour later they were several miles away when an explosion sounded in the night.

They all looked back as dozens more rocked the area where they had been just an hour before.

'That didn't take long.' Dominic said to her in her mind. She could link with any Wolf, and Dominic took advantage.

'Not long at all. Good thing we had planned ahead.' Ashley replied as they pushed deeper into the mountains.
