Chapter 5
Bianca steps down from the Cadillac in high spirits.
Catching a glimpse of Fredrick's residence, she marvels, “What an edifice!” she thought silently, getting a grip on herself.
“Honey! This is way better than you described it,” she heard her mother say to her father.
“I guess it is,” Williams replied, chuckling.
Immediately, a domestic staff member walks up to them.
“You must be the Williams, I presume?” he asked.
“Yes, we are,” Williams answered.
“This way, please. Mr. Smith has been expecting you,” he said, leading them to the dining hall through the majestic and towering pillars at the entrance, leading to a grand foyer adorned with intricate chandeliers and marble floors.
The mansion boasts multiple wings housing various amenities like a state-of-the-art theater, a fully equipped gym, a wine cellar, and a library filled with rare books. Upon reaching the dining hall, they meet Fredrick, who receives them warmly.
“Williams, my friend, or better, I say, in-law?” Fredrick said, gesturing for a warm handshake.
“In-law would be better, for we are family now,” Williams replied, receiving the handshake. “Do me the honor of introducing my lovely wife and beautiful daughter to you,” he added, making way for Bianca and her mother to come closer.
“How do you do, madam?” Fredrick said, shaking hands with Mrs. Williams.
“How do you do, sir? It is so nice to finally meet you,” Mrs. Williams said, grinning wildly.
“It is nice to meet you too, the lovely Mrs. Williams,” Fredrick replied. “Oh, the lovely Bianca! My daughter-in-law, it is so nice to finally meet you officially,” he said, requesting a hug.
“So nice to meet you too, Mr. Fredrick,” Bianca said, hugging him shyly.
“Nonsense! Stop with the formalities and call me Dad,” Fredrick said.
“Okay, Dad,” Bianca chuckled.
Not bad; this is surely going great, she thought to herself.
Fredrick wasn’t as bad as she had imagined; even in looks, he didn’t falter!
This was surely going to be a wonderful evening, she thought. Liam walked in, wearing a rather long and unenthusiastic face.
“Liam! My boy, just in time to meet your fiancée,” Fredrick said, grinning. “Mr. and Mrs. Williams, Bianca, my son Liam Smith,” he added.
“A very good evening to you,” Liam said, gesturing for a handshake.
“Hello,” he said to Bianca, restricting his eyes from running through her body, feeding his curiosity to just her face.
“Hello,” Bianca replied; she could feel her heart racing rapidly at this point.
“Damn! The gold-digging b***h has my favorite cologne on,” he said silently to himself, faking a smile.
“Liam, why not take Bianca on a tour? She has to start getting used to her new home, don’t you think so, Williams?” Fredrick asked, turning to Williams.
“Oh yes, Fredrick, you are right,” Williams replied, grinning wildly. “Now move along, Bianca; paradise awaits you,” he added to Bianca with a nod of acceptance.
“This way,” Liam said, pointing to the exit door.
Their parents watched as they left.
“They would make a fantastic couple, don’t you think?” an excited Fredrick asked, chuckling.
“They sure will,” Mr. and Mrs. Williams replied in unison.

Bianca couldn’t help but wonder when Liam was going to break the reticence hovering around them.
They had walked quite a few minutes away from the dining hall, and not a word had been uttered to her. Determined to begin a conversation, she broke the silence.
“You haven’t said a word since we left the dining hall. Do you not want to speak to me? We are supposed to get to know each other a bit before the wedding, I guess,” she said gleefully.
“Now you listen up, lady!” Liam said, switching up immediately. “I don’t know what the hell you and your shenanigan parents have all planned out with my dad, and I f*****g do not want to know!” he snapped. “I just want you to know that if you choose to go ahead with this marriage, I’m afraid it would be the worst mistake of your miserable life. Look at me,” he said, taking a few steps back with flair to admire himself. “How could I ever end up with someone as naive as you? Listen up, I got a woman I want to spend the rest of my life with, and I want to believe you got some guy somewhere too…” he added. “Well, if you happen to be single, do not think you and your greedy gold-digging parents could tactfully come into our lives to…”
“Enough!” Bianca shouted in shock, interrupting him abruptly. “I will not have you insult me or my parents. Your father is the villain here; he’s the one who orchestrated this union just because my father owes him money.”
“Tell your father to pay off the miserable debt, or better still, he can go to jail. Why rope me into all of this?” Liam asked, replying to Bianca.
“Well, if you do not want this, you can as well relate your feelings to your father,” Bianca said in defense. “I would not have you insult me for something I know absolutely nothing of!” she screamed, restraining her tears.
“I guess we are done with our tour and wonderful conversation?!” Liam said, ignoring her incoming tears.
“We may now return to the dining hall, and you know better than to cause a scene back there,” he said, walking away, leaving Bianca in a dilemma. In truth, she knew better than to cause a scene back at the dining hall, for no one may even believe her.
With nothing really to do at the moment, she immediately composed herself and walked back right after Liam.
Back at the dining hall, Liam walked in and sat down. “Where’s Bianca, son?” Fredrick asked.
“She asked to use the loo” Liam replied.
Almost immediately, Bianca hurriedly walked in and took a seat.
“Bianca dear, Liam says you were at the loo. Is everything okay, baby?” Mrs. Williams asked, noticing a sign of discomfort on her daughter’s face.
“Yes, Mum, everything is fine,” Bianca said, giving Liam a mean stare. “I just had a few adjustments to do; it’s sorted now.”
“I hope you enjoyed the tour, my dear?!” Fredrick asked gleefully.
“Yes, Dad, I sure did,” Bianca replied, forcing a smile.
“Well then, bring in the food!" Fredrick signaled to the head staff.
