Russell and Theo bought their house because of their neighborhood’s reputation as traditionalist. Despite the laws, they weren’t the only same-s*x couple on their street, let alone the neighborhood, and there was more than one magic shop, and not all were licensed. Each couple, of course, had well-established covers, such as roommates, best friends, cousins, siblings. One never knew when the temple enforcers would be sent out to enforce the gender laws.
