Meredith has spent her life mocked for being wolfless, discarded by her mate, and treated as a burden by her own family. She swore she would never bow, not even when beaten, not even when broken.

But fate is cruel, and when the cursed Alpha King lays claim to her, Meredith finds herself trapped in a world of power, secrets, and bloodlines older than the moon itself.

He is said to destroy every Luna who stands at his side. She refuses to be another sacrifice.

What begins as defiance twists into something far more dangerous; a bond that could save him, or destroy them both.

What happens when the girl who has nothing becomes the only one who can break the Alpha King’s curse?

CHAPTER1:BeMoreOriginal
MEREDITH “I, Westin Rick, Gamma of BloodHound Pack reject you, Meredith Feralis, as my mate.” My spine straightens, bracing for the pain that would come after my words. “I, Meredith Feralis, of BloodHound pack, accept your rejection.” It snaps. Pain shoots up my spine, and I bend over, holding my chest. Short bursts of air pass through my mouth, tears filling my eyes until the ache slowly dissipates. It didn’t last as long, and I couldn’t be more grateful. “Just like that?” Westin scoffs. “That’s all the pain you’d feel?” “Why? You’d rather I suffer?” I raise a brow. His jaw ticks. “You’re truly wolfless, aren’t you?” Even though being called a wolfless runt never ceases to hurt me, it is truly getting old. “That’s old news, Westin. If you want to insult me, be more original.” The lack of my wolf makes rejection less painful compared to those that have their own wolves. Plus being a hybrid, I’m not overly overwhelmed by emotions like most. I take a step past him, and he grips my arm. “Are you walking out on me?” He squeezes me tight. I wince. “You rejected me, Westin. What more do you want?” I ask, pain flaring up my arm. “You’re hurting me.” He shoves me into the wall. I land with a yelp, my head slamming against it. A splitting pain throbs in my head. “You have a mouth, don’t you?” He sneers, wrapping a hand around my throat. “For a hybrid, you’re really desperate to die.” I gulp, heart hammering in my chest. “Everyone t-talks about killing me, b-but you n-never do.” The words make it past my lips in a struggle. It’s hard to breathe, let alone, speak. But I will not beg. Never. No matter what they do to me. “And miss out on making your life a living hell?” He grins, wide. “That wouldn’t be fun.” “Of course it wouldn’t be, you know why?” I taunted. “Because if you kill me, there wouldn’t be anyone left to make you feel better about yourself.” The grip on my throat tightens. My vision blurs, my head swimming. “You think you’re all that? News flash, you’re not. You’re just a pathetic, wolfless hybrid that no one wants.” Spittle from his mouth landed on my face, and I grimaced. I choked out a laugh. “You’re lucky that I’m a wolfless hybrid. If I wasn’t, you’d be the runt of the pack. Pathetic, weak. Useless. Even your gamma ranking won’t save you.” His hand cracks down on my cheek hard. My face whips to the side, head banging against the wall for the second time. Air rushes into my lungs, and blood coats my mouth. I grin up at the bastard, his eyes are manically wide, lips curled into a snarl. “Ouuu,” I rasp, throat raw. “Did I hit a nerve?” The thing is, there’s no possible way for him to be the runt of the pack, especially when there are omegas. I guess he doesn’t like to be called weak, or pathetic. He shakes his head at me, taking a step back. “You will die alone, Meredith. A cold, long death, because no one will ever want you.” Spit filled with my blood hits the floor. “Look at you,” he hisses, “Your parents didn’t want you, they chose death over you. And your aunt? And cousins? You’re the laughingstock of every pack in this border, the brunt of every joke.” “My parents loved me, what can you say about yours?” I say, even though his words prick at me, especially the mention of my parents. “Their love doesn’t matter now that they’re dead, at least mine are still alive—” he laughs, mocking. “I’m a gamma, you’re nothing. We can never be alike.” Westin and I have known each other from the moment my aunt brought me to this pack. I wish I could say we were friends, but we’ve never been. “Thankfully, I don’t want to be like you. This is the best day of my life. Why? Because I rejected you. I feel nothing,” I hiss, throat raw, “…nothing for you.” It still hurts though. That no one thinks they can even get to know me. Everyone in the pack hates me, and it is all encouraged by the way my aunt and cousins treat me. “You’re really pushing it, Meredith,” he grits out. “But I don’t have time for this. Unlike you, I have things to do.” “How diligent of you.” I laugh, sinking to the floor while holding my still sore throat. “I wonder what the Alpha would say if he sees you away from your post,” I pause, lifting my eyes to his. “Again!” Westin bares his teeth at me, and then…he lunges. “Westin!” The voice stops Westin mid-lunge. He straightens, the footsteps approaching us. “Yes, Lawrence,” Westin greets, dipping his head slightly. My cousin, and the only person that loves me, glances down at me. “Did he hurt you, Meredith?” I press down on my lips. “It’s good to see you too, Lawrence.” “I asked you a question.” “No,” I lied blatantly, shaking my head. “He didn’t hurt me. He just came to reject me as his mate.” Lawrence and Westin give me looks, different looks, of course. Lawrence’ look is disbelieving, while Westin’s is threatening. He thinks he can threaten me into not spilling. He’s only lucky. I don’t believe in tattle-tale, especially when I can stand my ground. “Alright then, since you’re both done here…” Lawrence raises a brow at Westin, his face darkening. And that’s all Westin needs to scurry off like a terrified mutt. Lawrence softens when he looks at me again. “I know that fool hurt you. Goddess, Meredith, why do you hide the bullying?” “Help me up before you grill me?” I stretch my hand out, and he tugs me to my feet. “I’m not hiding the bullying. If I begin to mention names and things they’ve done to me, you’ll do something to them.” “Of course I will. They won’t get away with it.” His heavy hand falls around my shoulders, and we begin taking a stroll, my novel pressed up against my chest. “But that’s the problem. What happens when you leave? When you go back to your pack?” He sighs. “You’re right. I wish you didn’t have to go through this. My mom isn’t even helping, is she?” Bitter laughter forces past my lips. “Aunt Penny hates me, Lawrence. Even your sisters. I don’t know what I did, or why you even care about me.” “I’ll talk to her, okay?” “No!” I blurt, standing in front of him. “D-don’t talk to her, please. Hopefully the goddess will grant me another mate in a matter of months, and I’ll be out of her hair.” That’s one of the reasons I want a mate. Someone that will love me as a wolfless hybrid, that wouldn’t hurt me. Someone like the men in these novels I bury my nose in. Lawrence gives me a long look, then huffs. “Fine. Whatever you say.” “Don’t worry,” I say. “I’ll be fine.” We keep walking until we reach the pack house, the chatters can be heard, the rowdiness of it. “Hey, hybrid!” Someone cackles loudly, my back stiffens. “Heard you got rejected today. The wolfless trash thought she’d be wanted.” Laughter erupts around us. Lawrence stills, his grip tightening in my hand. “What did you say?” He bites out, low, menacing. All laughter dies out. “Come here, Omega!” he booms, I flinch.
