Colourless

Chapter 7

Years had passed and the hole in my life was still there , but the pain was gone. I finally was at a place where I could wake up in the morning and I wasn't thinking how I was going to get through today. I was still working at the same law firm, but now I was partner, it was hard to be excited for myself at the time but I'm really glad I was moving on with my life. I live not to far from work now so I walk every where, and I found this cute little dog park that I can take Ruth to and give her a place to play with other dogs. That's where I met her, Ruth was playing with a beautiful mix colored Australian Shepherd, I called to Ruth and both dogs came charging towards me. A woman who looked to be in her early 30's came over to me calling out “Channy” I can only assume that was the name of the Australian Shepherd and that it was her dog. We talked for awhile, mostly about our dogs but when I left the park I found myself hoping to see her again.

I was at work the next day and I noticed something was different, one of the office plants was different, something I hadn't seen in so long I had almost forgotten what it was like. The leaves were I want to say green, was it green that was my favorite? Its been so long I cant remember which one I loved the most. Everything else still looked as grim as I had come to accept it, so why were the leaves on this plant green, this was weird.
