Colourless

The first thing you need to know about my world is that everything is either a shade of black or a shade of white. Before you ask NO I am not color blind, I use to see colors. I am getting ahead of myself, first let me tell you my story and maybe you will understand what I mean. When I was ten years old my mother told me about the day I was born, she said the moment she laid eyes me her world never looked so beautiful. She told me her world brightened the moment I came into it, at the time I didn't understand what she was telling me. She spoke of colors and the beauty of things when all I could see was black and white. Why couldn't I see things the way she did? Why couldn't I understand her. I kept asking her to tell me more, but all she would do is smile and tell me that one day someone would color my world. Again I was ten so I had no idea what she meant. I wanted to know what she meant, I wanted to see her beautiful garden in all the colors that she could see. But like all children my interest changed and I accepted the fact that I may never see colors.
