Back to School
At the end of September, I was due to finish work and move in to Angie’s place in Loughborough about a week before term began. Of course I’d spoken to a couple of the ladies in the lab about the “village scandal”. Rumors were rife apparently, wondering why the police, and then an ambulance had been called to the house. And why two apparently respectable school teachers had been held overnight at the police station. I tried to keep my mouth shut, and ignore the persistent demands for more information.
Maria had offered to drive me over to Loughborough on that final Saturday to move into the flat. She and Len had been just amazing, and I would count them as good friends for the rest of my life.
Christine had left a flurry of messages for me at first, but
