Garry’s point of view
I caught Sarah peeping from behind some bushes. She was afraid, afraid of me. Being afraid was the last thing I wanted her to feel because of me. I told her to come out but she did not.
I noticed her face becoming pale from fear. I told her to come out again; I was starting to get annoyed but then, she composed herself and she came in front of me, but she still, maintained a long distance between us.
I told her to come closer, but she did not listen again. She was looking like a small child whose lollipop has been snatched and who is going to cry any moment now. A small chuckle was trying to escape my lips but somehow, I managed to suppress it.
It was obvious that she had figured out the situation already. I could not hide anything from her any longer. I opened my mouth to explain it to her, hoping that she would understand, but she cut me off before I could utter a word.
She opened her mouth and started rambling about things like letting her go, her being weak against me, I being a monster and things like that. She didn’t give me the chance to explain it to her. I could see how scared she was, so I decided to keep quiet for the time being.
I do not know why Sarah followed me, but I did not have any option that time. I had to erase her memory. She came to know the truth, nevertheless how hard I tried to keep it hidden. It broke my heart when she thought I was going to kill her. I never intended to do so. I was sad but resistant to any emotion that could overcome me.
I used my power and tangled her in my arms within a second. She was suddenly caught off guard and I cannot blame her if it was someone else. He would give the same reaction. Her body was rubbing against mine. I was feeling hot but neglecting it, I paid attention to the matter on hand. For the first few minutes, I got lost in her breathtaking beauty. I looked at her eyes, which were looking like the eyes of a petrified puppy. I was helpless then. I felt bad for my behavior towards her.
Soon the realization hit me that I was looking the same as before. I had fangs in my mouth and my eyes were red. I brushed it off and became a normal human again.
She was struggling against me but she was a petite figure. I grabbed both of her hands behind her back. My one arm was enough for holding her hands and her waist and I placed my other hand on her forehead. I knew erasing memory could be painful sometimes, but I had to do it.
She was making it difficult for me as well as for herself. She started struggling more as I began the procedure. She started shouting aloud. I did not answer her. Her body became tense. Her muscles tightened. Her limbs were turning cool.
Then, after almost a minute, her body weakened, her eyes were fighting with her to get them closed. But she was the dominant one until she turned in her submission. Her eyes shut off and she fainted, becoming free from all the stress. She found her heaven for a while in my arms.
Every person who undergoes this process usually wakes up in five to ten minutes but it was an hour already since she was unconscious. I started to get worried. When she fainted, I put her in my car and drove to the mountains away from the bustling city. She was in the car. The car’s engine was on and so was the heater. It was starting to become cool as night was taking place soon.
I grabbed a bottle of wine that was in the trunk of the car. I got out of the car and stood near the cliff. Fresh air was hitting my skin. It was fresh and cool, smelling like trees and soil, more like when it rains and the soil smells heavenly. I opened the bottle and started drinking.
I was lost in my own thoughts when a familiar and tired yet sweet sounding voice echoed in my ears. It was Sarah. She filled me with questions as soon as she spoke. I was somewhat afraid, thinking what if she did not forget anything, but it was impossible. But deep inside my heart, my heart was calling me a fool and I didn’t know the reason for it.
I felt like a fool. Anyways, I brushed off the feeling and turned towards her somewhere deep. I knew that I had done wrong. I was afraid of looking her in the eyes. I really loved her.
I turned towards her. Her beautiful face came in front of me. I made my way to her when she suddenly clutched her head with her hands and fell on her knees. I sped up and knelt beside her on her level. I asked her if she was okay... when some warm red fluid dripped down her nose, she touched her nose, and a lot of blood covered her hand.
She was scared and so was I.
Garry- Sarah, there is a lot of blood coming from your nose.
I was confused and scared as well. Erasing memory never has side effects. Then why is her body behaving like that?
I scooped up Sarah in my arms and took her to the car. I removed one of my hands from her body to open the door of the car when I felt her gripping tightly on my shirt. I smiled at myself, then put her in the passenger seat and locked the door. Then I myself jumped into the passenger seat.
I grabbed the tissue box and touched Sarah’s face so that I could clean her. She was looking lost. She flinched when I touched her. I was trying to wipe the blood from her face when she took the tissue from my hand_
Sarah- I…I will do it myself.
Garry- oh…okay.
