Chloe I wake up in the dark, clutching my stomach as it cramps painfully. I’m already soaked in sweat, the sheets tangled around my legs from having tried to kick them off in my sleep. I reach for Dominick, but he’s not here, and I whimper in distress. Maybe this is just another nightmare, I think desperately. Closing my eyes tightly, I will myself to wake up, back home, in my own bed, safe and sound. Another surge of pain jolts through me, though, and I curl into a ball, my body shaking with the feeling of being torn in two. Honestly, it’s starting to feel like I really need to use the bathroom.
