Suse and Jonah were equally perplexed by me sleeping with Nathan, but I convinced them that no harm had been done. I knew I could meet Nathan again as a friend, not an awkward mishap. Suse was sorry about Chris’s behaviour although it wasn’t her fault. Chris was a friend of Jonah’s, and he had the same right to attend their wedding as I had – as difficult as it turned out to be.
Suse and Jonah’s wedding came and went, but Mick and Sheila’s wedding was talked about even more afterwards.
