One Night, One Mistake
The music in Club Lux was loud, but not loud enough to drown out the voice in my head.
You're fired.
Three months of unpaid rent. My little sister's school fees. And now this.
I downed the last shot of tequila and slammed the glass on the bar. One night. I just needed one night to forget.
That's when I saw him.
Tall. Black suit. Eyes that looked through you like you were nothing. The kind of man who owned buildings, not just walked into them.
"Buy you a drink?" His voice was low, cold, and dangerous.
I should've said no. I should've walked away.
But I was tired of being the broke waitress nobody saw. So I smiled. "Sure."
One drink turned into two. Two turned into dancing. And dancing turned into...
His hotel suite.
His hands on my waist.
His name I never asked for.
Morning came too fast.
The bed was empty. On the nightstand was a thick envelope and a note:
"For your trouble. Don't look for me."
$10,000.
I took it. I had to.
Six weeks later, the pregnancy test had two pink lines.
And the man on the news... was the billionaire CEO of Hart Corp.
The same man whose hotel keycard was still in my purse.
He didn't know.
And I was going to make sure he never found out.
