ENLIGHTENING YOUR LIFE

CHAPTER-1 There is something common in all the stories, that they start with 'once upon a time' and end with 'happily ever after' or some painful lines. It depends! "Get up baby girl or else you will be late to school" mom shouted from downstairs. I woke up, changed myself into my school uniform, and moved to the kitchen where mom was preparing breakfast, I helped her for packing our tiffin boxes, and then all of us had our breakfast together. Dad was the first one to start the conversation "Umm... Shilos I was planning to go on a dinner tonight." Mom nodded in a way of agreeing with him."Can I join you!" I asked being a bit curious. Dad said "no" I looked down at my food while pouting. "Maverick stop it!" mom half yelled at dad and then turned to me "of course not my dear Wanetta, how can we go out on dinner without you. And please don't take your dad seriously he is just trying to mess up with you" I kissed my mom's cheek happily and then focused back on my food. A few minutes later dad got a call from his friend Mr. Zabel, they had a small talk and then all of us packed our belongings and walked out to the car. Dad drove me and mom to the school and said "I will be home at 7 pm sharp, you both please get back home in a taxi" mom smiled "don't worry honey we will be back to home safely, bye!" I waved my hand to mom and dad then stepped towards my class. Mom teaches our juniors in the school. "Hey, Wanny! Where were you?" Irish, my best friend asked. She was the daughter of one of my dad's medical teammate Mr. Hudson, we were together since we studied in kindergarten. I gave her a small smile and teased her "don't worry Iry I didn't get a new best friend" She gave me deadly gazes and I chuckled. I just can't think of living my life without her... We had spent all our time while laughing, gossiping, and roasting each other as our teachers were busy in the preparation for sports day. These days are really fun for the students of high school like us! "Hey kids, why are you both roaming in the corridor?" mum asked with her eyebrow raised. When did she come here? Iry and I exchanged a look and then turned back to her. I shrugged and said, "just looking at the decoration, it's fantastic!" "yes-yes it's fantastic," Iry said agreeing with my words. "Come on Irish and Wanetta! I am not going to bite you if you are enjoying yourselves in the corridors" mum chuckled at our facial expressions which looked blank and tensed at the same time. She patted both of our shoulders and left. "We didn't do anything wrong, right? then why were we both scared?" Irish asked while sighing, I thought for a moment and said "maybe because of her sudden presence in front of us." Irish chuckled and said, "like a ghost!" I repeated after her "like a ghost... maybe!" I then continue "let's walk to the classroom now before something else happens." We walked to our class and played some games for the rest of the day with the other members present in the class with us... Mom and I drove back to the house in a taxi. "Go and get ready sweetie!" mom said, I nodded and ran upstairs to change myself into an orange-colored frock, with big white dots on it. I wore my silver-colored twisted hoops earrings and applied pink, strawberry flavored lip gloss. I then put my hair into a ponytail, walked down to mom's room, and knocked on the door. She asked me to wait for some time so I sat on the couch in the living room and switched on the television, changed the channel to 'Disney', and then watched 'miraculous ladybug and cat noir'. Iry and I usually watch this show to pass our time... After fifteen to twenty minutes mom walked out of her room. She was wearing blue color jeans, a white t-shirt and a grey colored cotton blend waterfall shrug with gold plated long earrings. She wore her green color contact lenses and applied mascara, eyeliner, and creme color matte lipstick. I gave her a wide smile and said "you look beautiful!" she gave me a side hug and shrugged her shoulders "after all I am your mom sweetie" we then called dad and within half an hour he was waiting for us outside in his car.  We got into the restaurant and took a clean and empty table for ourselves. Dad ordered food for us and then spoke up "I had a meeting in the morning with the seniors" he looked a bit stressed "They want me and my team to transfer to Vouvant" mom and I exchanged a look from each other "what are you talking about? Does this mean we have to settle down there in Vouvant" mom asked, her voice seemed to be surprised. Dad sighed and then continued from where he stopped "yes, we have to settle down there in Vouvant as many incidents are happening there, people are getting bitten by some unknown creatures. The mayor has chosen our team especially and we can't refuse him. Mom nodded in agreement and I burst out my anger which I was hiding from so long "How can we leave? If we leave how can I study further? And the most IMPORTANT thing, is Mr. Hudson and his family coming with us?" mom patted my back and I huffed. Dad chuckled and said "I said that they want our whole team to transfer which means that Mr. Hudson and his family will be there with us too. And please sweetie don't worry about your education, they promised that they will get your admission in the best school of Vouvant" I sighed in relief, and then we enjoyed our dinner. **** The next morning I got to the class and searched for Iry, she was chatting with some other classmates. I walked to her and hit on the backside of her head childishly! She turned to me and murmured to herself "ugh! how can you do that?" I chuckled and said "I can do anything to my best friend" it was sudden but filled with emotions, she hugged me tight and I could feel that she was hurt! I patted her back and tried to make her feel a bit comfortable "everything is going to be alright Iry! Please don't be sad" she freed me from her hug and smiled at me "no matter what but I can phase every problem when you are by my side. I can't think of making someone else my best friend. And if you think of doing something like that then I won't talk to you" Before I get a chance to speak a word our class teacher entered the class, we got back to our benches and attended her class with a full concentration... At the end of the class, she asked me and Iry to follow her to the staff room. It was a way of four to five steps when we were standing in the staffroom. She gave a small smile and said "Irish your parents called me and said that you will handover me a letter." as soon as she completed her sentence Iry handed her the letter. Then she continued "and Wanetta your mother gave me the letter but I called you here to give both of you a small gift from my side" both Iry and I smiled and she gave us small boxes wrapped beautifully with a pink color wrapping sheet. "Were you aware of this that we are going to leave school?" I asked being curious. She gave me a wide smile and said "no but I have ten gifts in my locker, always ready to give students who are going to transfer or something like that" I made an 'o' shape with my mouth then Iry and I thanked her and moved back to our class.
