Chapter 15

I had to watch as Jason's pack ran back to their territory was Beth. She gave herself to save me and my pack. Our pack. As soon as they left, my Beta and I got to work to come up with a plan to save her. We concluded that there was no possible way to do that without starting a war. However, we were the most powerful pack in the country and we had a trick up our sleeve that only I knew about until I told Ceaser. We also had strong allies. The Blue Moon pack and the River Wolf pack sent 200 warriors each to help us and in return, we would let them train under us for several months in order to make them stronger. We didn't worry about them becoming more powerful than us though because they had half the size of a pack that we do. 

As we were discussing what to do, my office door slammed open and Lucy came in fuming. 

"Why was my best friend taken back to her old pack by that d**k of a mutt who is her brother," she said with her hands on her hips. 

Ceaser walked over to her and soothed her with his voice. 

"She sacrificed herself to save Ky and the pack," he explained. 

"Well, then what are we going to do about it? I want to be in on it."

"Babe, no. It's too risky."

"You can't say no to me Mister. I am going to help whether you like it or not."

Just as Ceaser was about to protest again, I interrupted. 

"Sorry Ceaser but I am going to have to side with Lucy. She can be a sky but stay out of the fighting. Every single pack member is going to have a job and hers is going to gather intel and mind link us about it."

"Like an inside man. I mean woman."

"Exactly. And when the fighting starts, you won't be part of it. You'll help Beth escape with me and then take her to a remote location with some guards until its all over."

"I can agree to that," Ceaser said.

"Then it's settled. Tomorrow you will leave and go to Beth's old pack and ask to visit her. Find out where she is being kept and how to get there. Pay attention to detail. Everything you see could be important in saving her."

"yes, alpha," she responded. 

The two of them left my office and I was finally able to break down and cry. Without her here I felt like a piece of is missing. As I was crying I could feel pain all over my body. My eyes widened in the realization that Elizabeth was in more danger than I thought. They weren't just keeping her captive, they were torturing her. 

Knowing that she was in so much pain made me shake with fear. I wiped everything off my desk, sending everything crashing to the floor. I threw my chair across the room and tore a painting I had on my wall. I didn't care that I was destroying my things. All I cared about was getting Beth back. 

I mind linked every single one of the pack members and told them to meet in our banquet hall for a pack meeting in 20 minutes. When everyone got there, they looked at me with confused and worried eyes. Ceaser stood beside me to back me up. 

"Thank you all for meeting me here on such short notice. As you know, we were attacked by my mate's old pack. Your future Luna sacrificed herself in order to save me and in order to save each and every one of you.  I can feel it deep within my bones, soul, and heart that she is being tortured as we speak. The thought of it saddens me and makes me angry. It also gives me all the more motivation to save her but I can't do it alone. I need everyone's help. Two of our closest allies have agreed to send some troops to help us. Our own warriors will fight. As part of the pack, I ask, no I beg that you will also take part in saving our Luna."

There was a moment of silence before some said, "LONG LIVE THE LUNA!"

Before I knew it, everyone was chanted it. This was it. We are going to save Beth, the luna, my mate.

I changed some minor details throughout the story if you wanted to go back and read it. Chapter 8 now has a little more heat to it and some things are explained more.
