"I know I shouldn't want you," he murmured against my ear, his arms wrapping around me from behind, "but this temptation... it's unbearable."His strong, addictive cologne filled my senses, and for a moment, I forgot how to breathe. I just nodded, desperate to seem like the bold, strong woman I wished to be — but I failed miserably. In one swift motion, Grayson spun me around to face him. Our faces were just inches apart, his intense gaze locking with mine, drowning me in the depth of his desire."I want to kiss you so damn bad right now, Sienna," he growled. He wasn’t asking for permission. He was claiming what he wanted.

❝Heat between us.❞
I had hated my house ever since my dad brought his girlfriend to live with us. Lydia — that's her name — doesn’t like me, and honestly, I don’t like her either. It's painfully obvious. Dad sees it too, during every stiff, silent meal we have together. Even after countless fights, he still insisted on keeping Lydia around. I was tired — tired of pretending, tired of being ignored. So today, I decided to just step outside and catch some fresh air. As I was walking, a text popped up from an unknown number. "Hey kiddo, I'm coming over to your house to give your dad a surprise. Is he home?" I frowned, confused for a second. Then it hit me — only one person ever called me kiddo. Uncle Grayson. Grayson Vaughn. My dad's childhood best friend — partners-in-crime since they were five, and still inseparable in their late thirties. A smile tugged at my lips as I quickly replied, "Yes, he’s home right now." He left me on seen, but I didn't mind. I headed back, excited to see him after so long. My house was just a few steps away when I spotted a Ferrari SF90 Stradale parked outside. (Yeah, trust Uncle Grayson to pull up in something ridiculously cool.) I grinned and rushed inside, throwing my arms around him from behind. He turned his head slightly, laughing, and pulled me into a proper hug. That familiar warmth, the one I hadn't felt in years, wrapped around me. When we finally pulled apart, he got a good look at me — and froze. His eyes scanned me slowly, like he couldn’t believe what he was seeing. I felt it too — a strange jolt in my chest. Was he always this...hot? Was I really into hot older men now? Yeah. Definitely. No doubt. But — he's Uncle Grayson. I shouldn’t be feeling this way. I quickly brushed the thought away. "It's been four years, and you finally decided to visit!" I said, beaming. He smiled back, but there was something different in his gaze. "In four years, you've changed a lot," he said, his voice lower than I remembered. I felt my cheeks heat up. I didn’t know how to respond, so I just plopped down on the sofa, pretending to be busy. Dad and Grayson caught up like old times, but soon, I got bored. I pulled out my phone and started reading some webnovels, like always. Then Lydia's shrill voice called out for me. I rolled my eyes — and of course, Dad caught it. He frowned and said sharply, "Go help Lydia. She probably needs a hand." I snapped back, "Then you help her! She’s your girlfriend, Dad!" He facepalmed in defeat, but I knew if I stayed any longer, I’d get another lecture. Reluctantly, I went. In the kitchen, Lydia was mixing up cocktails. I helped, silently, doing whatever menial tasks she shoved at me. Once the drinks were ready, I carried the tray carefully back to the living room. I handed the first glass to Grayson. Our fingers brushed — and it felt like a jolt of electricity shot straight through my body. I blinked, trying to shake it off. I passed the other glasses to Dad and Lydia, then sank back into the couch, phone in hand. A few minutes later, I felt it — a heavy gaze on me. I looked up. Grayson quickly turned his head away, pretending he hadn’t been staring. But I caught him. And yet... I pretended not to notice. Dad broke the silence, complaining, "Sienna’s become such a rebel these days. I don't know what to do with her." I nonchalantly picked my ear with my pinky finger. Dad sighed, exasperated. "You see, Grayson? This is why there’s always drama in the house." Grayson chuckled and said, "She’s an adult now, Jack. You don’t let her live her life, of course she'll rebel. Also... I don’t like your girlfriend." Dad punched his shoulder lightly. "Don’t talk s**t about her, mate." Grayson laughed again, surrendering. "Alright, alright. No more 'facts' then." I couldn’t help but laugh at their banter. Grayson checked his watch and stood up. "I should probably head out," he said. Dad protested, "That’s too early!" Grayson patted his shoulder. "Maybe some other day, mate." I couldn’t help but notice how his veins flexed along his strong hands. God. Why was I noticing these things now? Then, Grayson turned his eyes to me — his gaze lingering just a little too long. He bit his lip slightly and said, "Wanna go for a quick ride, Sienna?" My eyes widened in surprise. But honestly? I wanted — needed — to get away from this house, even just for a little while. I nodded eagerly and rushed to stand beside him.
