-CASSIE-
I wrapped a towel around my dripping wet body as I headed to the closet. "I am not going to let this affect me." I told myself as I approached the double doors. I get my favorite red hooded crop top, blue jeans, a pair of red Convers, with a set of red lace bra and panties.
I got dressed as I walked over to the mirror to look at the reflection before me. I look good. I thought to myself. Red has always been my color. It brightens up my caramel skin and enhances the color of my plump red lips. I am 5'4" in height with an hour glass body. Light brown eyes, dark black curls that reach down the length of my back. My skin is flawless with slight freckles adorning my face. I looked at myself once over as I whispered "It's his loss" and never again will I fall for this I would focus on my studies , I thought to myself. Knowing the only one that feels like they lost something is me.
I walked over to the desk in the corner of the room. I picked up my bag to shove all my books in it. I glanced up at the clock on the wall above the desk to realize how late I was going to be on my first day back. No professor likes a late student. Running out the door, closing it behind me. I headed to the stairs as I swung the bag over my shoulder.
When I got to the first step, as I looked down, I saw my roommate Leah staring back at me with those big blue ocean eyes. With a look of concern and sadness. Even though I haven't told her what happened between Roman Cruz and me. By the look of understanding, she knows. Without saying a word, I smiled.
She's been my best friend since we were in sixth grade. Together we have helped each other get over our rough days and break-ups. Celebrating the good days, and everything else life has thrown our way. She knows me better than I know myself sometimes. She gives me a faint smile."How did you sleep?" she asks. To which I responded "I slept" and shrugged my shoulders as I walked down each step. Once again, she gives me a smile that does not reach her eyes and says " Hurry up, we are going to be late to Anatomy !". A giggle escaped my lips. "We might as well not go if we are already late then" I said.
Leah cxxx her head to the side. Puts her hands on her hips. "Now you know very well the professor will rip us a new one if we don't go. We are close to finals, so come on before I fail and I have to repeat his class", Leah says. I rolled my eyes and descended the rest of the way down the stairs.
We both received acceptance letters from Kansas University. We were so excited. Next thing you know, we decided to rent a small two-bedroom house in Lawrance, Ks so we would save some money on rent. The house was near the university, so we would be able to walk if we wanted to also to save on gas. Which on most days we would if we weren't already running behind.
As we walked out the front door, we realized there were moving trucks parked behind my little red Mustang. If nothing else went wrong, that would be great, I thought. "Who do you think is moving in across the street?" Leah asked. "I don't know", I shrugged my shoulders. "In the year we have been here no one ever even looked at the house" I said. " I thought it was haunted or somebody died there and that why no one went to look. " Leah exclaims. "I don't think we should worry about whose moving in but of who can move this truck so we can make it to class." I say as I look around to see if can spot the one who looks like he is in charge.
Leah wiggles her eyebrows with a grin on her face and, in a flirtatious tone, says "Maybe one of us should see if those hotties can help us with that. Here we go again, I thought. She acts so boy crazy sometimes, but that is just an act.
