Esmeralda’s gaze burned into me as I sat at my desk, her sharp eyes narrowing with each word she spoke. The click of her cane against the floor was deliberately timed, a reminder of her authority.
“That beta driver’s behavior towards Seraphina was unacceptable,” she said, her voice firm and heavy with disapproval. “You need to make amends.”
