Question: Write a story which involves a rediscovery of something lost
I felt empty, as if something in my life ever since my ex best friend stopped talking to me back in 2019. In order to find my missing piece, I tried taking up leadership positions such as a class monitor and president of stacking club to keep myself occupied. Not only that, I participated in various camps and extra-curricular activities to keep my mind off him. I also attempted to please others, meeting their expectations on me. Even if I felt accomplished doing so, nothing filled my hole.
In December 2020, I had a leadership appraisal. I was asked what are the difficulties I faced when I was a leader. My answer was meeting everyone's expectations. That's when my teacher told me that I should not try to please others and that I should focus on myself.
After the appraisal, I reflected on what my teacher had told me. Although I understood what she said, I did not know how to do so. That night, my friends and I watched some of the YouTube videos I had uploaded before. It hit me of why I started my own YouTube channel. I love to film and hope to be a successful YouTuber one day.
At night, I decided to cuddle my stuff toys that I have not touched for a long time when I sleep. Surprisingly, I found comfort hugging them. That's when I found out my love for my stuffed toys was gone.
In 2021, another lockdown happened. Besides having online classes and online tuition, I have nothing to do, which bores me to death. I was on my phone and found a game which I had not played in a millennia. Without anything to do, I decided to have a match. During the match, I found my passion towards the game.
Right now, I am happier than ever after finding out what I had lost. If you know who you are, you will have a goal and therefore can see the world positively despite the pandemic happening now.
