Refusal Of Marriage
"I don't want to marry you," Elizabeth shouted through her throat. " Do you hear me? I don't want to marry you."
Charles, staring with his cold eyes, without saying a word.
She had learned that her father and stepmother had arranged a marriage for her to a rich and powerful CEO, without her consent or knowledge.
She felt betrayed and angry by her parents’ actions. They didn’t care about her happiness or dreams. They only cared about money and status. They had sold her off to a stranger like a commodity.
She didn’t want to get married, especially not to a man she had never met before. She wanted to live her own life, pursue her own education, and find her own love.
She decided to escape from this nightmare and hide somewhere until she could figure out a way to stop this marriage. She grabbed her backpack and ran towards the bus stop. She hoped to catch the bus that would take her to the city, where she could stay with her best friend, Jake.
She didn’t notice the black car that was following her from a distance, nor the men in suits who were watching her every move.
Charles sat alone in his spacious and luxurious mansion, feeling a pang of emptiness in his heart. He looked at the photo of Elizabeth that he had placed on his desk. She was a beautiful and charming woman, but she was not the one he loved. She was his fiancée, but only because his grandmother had made him promise to marry her. His grandmother was the only person who ever showed him any love in his life. His parents had always been cold and distant, too busy with their business empire to care about their son. They never gave him any attention or affection, leaving him to grow up lonely and isolated. But his grandmother was different. She had been warm and loving, always there for him in his times of need. She had been his best friend and confidant, his source of joy and comfort. Charles loved her more than anything, and he could not break his promise to her, even if it meant sacrificing his own happiness.
Charles was furious when he learned that Elizabeth had fled from her home. He ordered his men to find her and bring her to him.
Elizabeth felt a surge of fear as she reached the bus stand. Something was wrong. The place was deserted and silent. Where were the people? Where was the bus? She wondered, feeling a chill in her spine.
She heard a voice behind her, calling her name. She turned and saw a man in a suit and sunglasses, holding a gun behind his back. He smiled at her, but it was a cold and cruel smile.
Elizabeth gasped as she saw the stranger in front of her. He was tall and muscular, wearing a suit and sunglasses. He had a sinister smile on his face. She felt a surge of panic in her chest. What did he want from her? Was he going to hurt her? To violate her? To sell her?
"Who are you?" she asked without showing any sign of fear on her face.
"Miss Elizabeth, I'm here on behalf of Mr. Charles. He has sent me to escort you to his mansion." The man said, calmly.
"Why should I go with you? Who are you to take me?" she said, defiantly. She raised her fist to hit him on the face, but it was too late. The man grabbed her by her hand and took her to a black car, where two other men were waiting. They opened the door and forced her to sit in the back seat, ignoring her screams and cries. They drove away, leaving her helpless and terrified.
Elizabeth felt a wave of dread as they arrived at the mansion. She saw Charles sitting on a throne-like chair, his face impassive. She wondered what he saw in her, why he wanted to marry her? But she had no time for such questions. She had to find a way out of this nightmare.
She noticed her wicked parents sitting beside him, smiling smugly. She screamed, declaring that she would never marry him. She challenged his authority, his power, his pride.
She spotted a glass of water on the table in front of him. She wanted to show him that she was not scared of him. She dashed towards it, hoping to splash it on his face. But he was too quick. He dodged her attack, and the water spilled on the sofa. Charles glared at her with fury. He rose from his seat and said coldly: "You can go." Elizabeth was stunned for a moment. Why did he let her go so easily? But she had no time to ponder. She turned and ran to her house, leaving him behind.
