Dallas
The fighting was intense, soldiers falling left and right under Thor’s hammer. He swung it as fast as he could, and threw it into a swarm of enemies. More approached, and he held out his hand to summon his hammer back to him, but it didn’t come. He began street fighting, thinking his hammer was just stuck in some debris. He kept smashing heads and calling his hammer back to him every chance he got. Every soldier he faced was injured, or knocked unconscious, until all were defeated. Thor then went to search for his hammer. His senses pulled him to his left, but it was nowhere to be found. It seemed as if his prized possession had disintegrated into thin air. Thor followed his senses again, turning away from the fallen enemies toward the portal to Earth. Thor turned and saw someone standing there. He couldn’t make out who, but they pushed him into the portal. He fell through down to Earth’s surface. He hit the ground hard and was knocked unconscious. What seemed like seconds, but Thor found to be hours later, he awoke. There, standing before him, was a beautiful woman. She stood above him, one hand on her hip. She saw him awake and she said, “Hey buddy. Are you okay?”
He looked over her again, she truly was gorgeous. “I am fine.” He allowed her to help him up, and saw his hammer in her other hand. Thor looked at her, shocked at this discovery. “You picked up my hammer?”
“Obviously” she sounded offended.
Thor looked at this woman, holding his hammer, and realized since she was worthy, she had to be an advisory of his. “Who are you?”
“My name is Dallas. Who are you?”
“Why, I am Thor, son of Odin.”
Dallas handed Thor back his hammer, and their eyes met. Thor smiled, and she smiled in return. “Do you,” she questioned, “want to go get a drink?”
Thor laughed. “Yes, but be warned, I am not intoxicated easily.”
“Challenge accepted.” She laughed and replied.
Three hours later, after almost drinking the bar dry, neither Dallas nor Thor were the least bit drunk. They were rushed out of the bar by the bartender, who decided that he was going to close early that night. The two were holding hands, smiling at one another. “Tonight was very enjoyable. Thank you for your company,” Thor said to a blushing Dallas.
“Sure thing. I’ve never met anyone who can drink that much and not pass out, throw up, or die.”
Thor laughed. “Neither have I.”
Dallas smiled. Thor held her gaze, and as the two were about to kiss, a ringing came from Dallas’ pocket. “Sorry.” She said.
She answered the cell phone, an annoyed tone in her voice. “What do you need Johnson? Now! I’m in the middle of something… yes I understand you think this is important but I’m busy! Ni—Nick! Calm down! I’ll be there soon. Ten four. Kennick out. “
She hung up the phone, and looked at Thor. “Sorry. I have to go. Duty calls.”
“Let me accompany you.” Thor said, suddenly.
“I don’t know. My work is dangerous and I’m not su—“
Dallas wasn’t allowed to finish, because Thor cut her off by kissing her. They kissed for what seemed like ages, when the phone in her pocket ran again. She pulled back, frowning. “Damned phone never rings when I need it to.”
Thor chuckled. “May I accompany you now, Dallas?”
She grinned at him. “I guess. Be prepared to meet some strange people.”
