We are in Chicago right now, we will be in New York in 2 hours. Meet at Nick’s place, you know where the key is.
Alex got a text from Dallas, In the 4 years Nick’s lived in that apartment her key had remained in the same place. Right behind the brass door knocker on her door. In plain sight but no one would ever look there because who uses knockers anymore?
Alex slowly walked into the apartment. Hoping she was the first one there, which she was.
“Why are you so nervous Alex, they are your best friends.” Alex splashed some water on her face. “They can’t be mad, you did what was best at the time”
“Alex?” Dallas’ voice called out.
“Our plane landed early, are you here?” Nick flipped on the lights.
Alex slowly walked out of the bathroom. “I’m right here.”
“ALEX!” Nick and Dallas rushed to hug their best friend.
“I know you’re probably fuming mad at me but I needed some time on my own.” Alex started her rehearsed speech.
“Alex, you act like this is the first time you’ve done this.” Nick laughed.
“Remember back in high school when you disappeared for 9 months and you came back speaking perfect Greek because your family let you take a surprise trip to Greece? Although everyone thought you had gotten pregnant.” Dallas explained.
“Well yeah I guess.” Alex laughed at that story.
“You still know any greek?” Steve asked jokingly

“That’s beautiful, I don’t understand it but it’s beautiful.” Steve kissed Alex hard on the mouth.
“To continue what I was going to say,” Alex blushed after Steve broke the kiss “I left for a few reasons, I figured since we, Meaning Dallas and I, didn’t have anything to distinguish us as a part of the Avengers I would have my tailors make suits for us.”
“What?!” Dallas looked at her friend.
“Yeah” Alex walked over to Nick’s closet and pulled out two suits. Dallas’ suit looked like a smaller, more feminine version of Thor’s. Alex’s was the same except made to look like Steve’s.
“This is bitchin!” Dallas shouted.
Nick looked slightly left out, “Don’t worry Nick, I have something for you too.” Alex pointed to a small box on the counter.
Nick giddily opened the box, “Alex, how the hell did you?” Nick broke off in a happy scream.
“Did you forget just which family I belong to?” Alexis giggled.
“Oh yeah, how could I?” Nick laughed and put on her new gadget.
“What is it?” Dallas asked.
“It’s the latest in new tech. It looks like a watch but it’s basically a supercomputer!” Nick looked like she was going to start drooling.
“So now I have a question,” Steve stated “What family do you belong to?
“Does the name Marobella mean anything to you?” Dallas stared at him.
“Yeah, I’ve worked with many of them, all of the women in that family have gone to war. I think it’s onto the 4th generation now. They’re one of the richest military families, hell one of the richest families in the world.” Steve replied.
“That’s correct, Steve, May I introduce you to the 4th generation Marobella woman, Alexis Marobella.” Nick gestured to Alexis, who curtsied.
“Hi, how are ya” Alex giggled.
“How did I not know?” Steve hugged her.
“I don’t know, especially since you called me by my last name at base camp before we left, but I do have a message from my great grandmother, Mrs. Peggy Carter, She’s still waiting on that dance.” Alexis kissed him.
“Oh, and Dallas, Since Thor’s a butthead and won’t let you use the Axe hammer, I had the lab people make you a new one, one that’s made to beat people.” Alex pulled an identical hammer out from behind the counter.
“f**k yeah!” Dallas beamed and started swinging it.
“Hey! Be careful, This is my place ya know.” Nick warned.
“Yeah yeah.” Dallas blew her off.
“Now Steve, I know you’re pretty attached to your shield, and I would never do anything to try and replace it, but I also had them make this.” Alex pulled out a shield identical to Steve’s. “The only difference is, This one has a tracking system built in so you will always be able to find it no matter where you throw it. I also had them program it to come back to you like Thor’s hammer and Dallas’ axe do. Nick, I doubt you’d ever lose that, but just in case I had them install it on there too.”
Nick looked like Alex had just insulted her. “I would never lose Beverly!” She kissed the watch on her wrist.
“I know, but this is just in case Tony tries to steal it because that won’t be available to the public for at least 3 more years and not even Tony can get his hands on it for at least another year. It comes with built in security, so no one but you can use it.” Alex said.
“Oh f**k yes, Suck on that Tony, Now I have something better than you!” Nick beamed.
“Alexis, How did you ever have time to do all this in 3 months?” Steve was looking at the shield “Is this Vibranium?”
Yes, and I’ll be honest, I actually ordered the suits and shield after we had gone on our first mission, the watch I ordered shortly after. The Hammer I had made after we found the original and Thor was being a turd.” Alex explained.
“How did you even get vibranium, I thought the last of it went into my shield?”
“Oh Steve, When you’re as rich as I am, people will do anything to please you because they know how quickly a bad rap can spread, especially coming from the mouth of a Marobella.” Alex smiled at him. “ So would you prefer your shield or the new one, whichever one you pick, I’ll get the other one.”
“If I could put in my two cents, I think you should take the tracking shield Alex, I know how easily you lose things.” Nick said.
“She has a point, love” Steve pointed out. “ Besides, I like my shield, it’s old fashioned, like myself.”
“Alright then, where do we go from here?” Dallas asked.
“Well,” Nick looked up from her phone. “They know we’re missing, I have about 30 missed calls from Tony. I’m gonna call him back quick.”
“Don’t give away our location just yet.” Alex added.
Nick gave a thumbs up and dialed Tony.
“So, what happened while I was gone?” Alex asked Steve and Dallas.
“Jack shit.” Dallas huffed. “ Tony was too preoccupied with trying to make it up to you once we found you that we didn’t do anything. We’ve just stayed in Cali these past three months.”
“I learned to surf” Steve piped up.
“You’ll have to teach me.” Alex giggled at the pair.
“Ok guys, Tony knows we’re with Alex and he’s not happy about it. Alex, be ready for a huge apology when we get back, We ripped Tony a new one after you left. For now, we can chill here for a while or go to Florida where they want to meet up.” Nick put her phone back into her pocket.
“Well, I suggest we-” Dallas was cut off by a loud banging outside the apartment door.
