As Lou had asked, Matt texted with the code, then, rather than call, also texted his choice of a meeting place and time. Lou replied that he agreed and would see Matt in two days.
With that set, Wayne said that they were going car shopping, much to the other’s surprise. His reasoning was, “The van is too noticeable. It worked for moving out here, but now we need a nondescript car.”
After spending the rest of the day checking out used cars, they ended up with a six-year old Corolla in good running condition. Wayne convinced the owner to drop the price by a thousand dollars by offering to pay in cash. With that settled, they returned home to pack and sleep.
