Morning Secrets

Chapter 7 It was the weekend and LeighAnn was so grateful for it. She had been so ready ever since the half confrontation with Hoyt. She willed Friday to come and go. This weekend was not just an escape from new coworkers and slutty ones, it was also the opening weekend of modern gun season and she had been preparing for this since the last season had ended. LeighAnn was ecstatic this time was here again.  LeighAnn had met a male friend of Sophia's three years ago that convinced LeighAnn to join the Dark Creek Hunting Club almost immediately after meeting him. Joseph Taylor was an avid hunter and he saw something in LeighAnn that made him take her under his wing. He showed her how to build her own stand, brushing lanes, set up feeders, and sight in the .270 accu-trigger gun she bought and has used ever since she started human hunting as she called it. After almost two years of not getting a deer, LeighAnn killed her first at the end of the last season and was so proud of herself just as Joseph was. It was a doe, but LeighAnn didnt care. The doe weighed one hundred and fifty pounds and LeighAnn thanked the mood goddess over and over for days after the kill for allowing her to get her first deer and to provide herself in the human way. This just made things a little easier for her to fit in around her human friends.  LeighAnns alarm went off at four thirty that morning and she almost happily jumped out of bed and skipped to the bathroom. She brushed her hair and teeth and began to put on her camouflage outfit that she had hung in the closet next to the shower the night before. She walked out of the bathroom, grabbed her phone off the night stand and felt it buzzing in her hand.  "Hello?" LeighAnn said softly. "Hey girly, you almost ready to go?" Joseph replied quickly. LeighAnn just smiled. She always loved opening day with Joseph, it had become a tradition for them both now. He was almost a brotherly figure for her, and she appreciated him in every way. He was ten years older than her, and he was very wise for his age which is why LeighAnn would ask for advice on almost everything.  "Yes Joseph, im heading out the door right after i grab my gun!" She laughed when she heard him say "mmhm".  "I promise you I will be there no later than ten minutes."  LeighAnn grabbed her rifle from the gun cabinet by the door as she hung up with Joseph. Her vest and hat were already in her car, she made sure to put them there last night.  Just as she shut the door behind her, she got a text. It was Joseph.  "Okay, see you in 15 Sass."  LeighAnn rolled her eyes. He knew she didnt like nicknames, but she only allowed Joseph to call her that. No one else was privileged enough and she had learned to love the nickname he gave her.  She headed down the steps to get to her car doing a mental check on locking the door, grabbing her hunting license, vest, hat, and headlamp. She also told herself that next year she would have a truck to use for this so that Joseph didnt have to take her out to her stand, but she knew he secretly enjoyed it even though he liked to give her a hard time. LeighAnn was so lost in her own thoughts that she almost didnt hear the twig breaking not more than twenty feet from her.  She snapped her head up, and almost loaded her gun. She heard another twig snap, and she tried to see if it was an animal or a person, but nothing moved. Her eyes lit up, and she smelled the air. Nothing. There was no smell, no movement. A moment later a bluebird flew from a tree branch and landed in the general area LeighAnn was hearing the noise and picked up a twig. She laughed and said to it, "So you are the culprit for the noises." LeighAnn shook her head and put her gun in the passenger side of her car, walked around and got into the car. She started her car and left to go meet Joseph.  *Unknown* She watched LeighAnn smelling the air and prayed that the scent remover worked. She knew those twigs snapping was almost her undoing, but she had to get to her before anyone else could. The girl didnt know she was in immense danger, and all the werewolf world was looking for this particular werewolf with the purple eyes. They knew that once she hit her twenty fourth birthday, all of her powers would be revealed. No one knew who this girl was except for a few and they never told the girl who she was to begin with. Hell, she honestly thought this girl was a myth because she had never met anyone with the purple eyes, and silver hair.  She just knew she looked different and that was all that anyone had ever told her, and she didnt believe anyone like that existed until she met LeighAnn's parents. "This girl is mine.", the hidden she wolf thought to herself. If I can befriend her, I can use her against all of our enemies. Her parents had hired her to bring her home, even after three years they couldnt stand knowing their daughter was out there and had no clue where she was, but the she wolf wanted this particular werewolf for her pack's advantage.
