Jealousy

Chapter 6  LeighAnn made her way into her room, that she had been assigned to for the day. The primates were eager to see her and they made all sorts of ruckus when she walked into the room. She had made a promise to herself that she was not going to have another outburst like that over Abigaile and Hoyt. Neither of them were worth it.  "He is worth it! He is our mate!" Emerie yelled in her head. She was extremely distraught over  LeighAnn's handling of the the situation in the breakroom. "Emerie, do you want a mate that goes to dinner with another female?" She retorted. Emerie just growled lowly, and then disappeared from LeighAnns conscience.  The primates in the room could tell something was wrong with her. Her baby primate that she personally nicknamed Blue, (she had a blue marking underneath her right eye) stuck her arm out so LeighAnn could love on her. LeighAnn smiled, and gratefully rubbed her am.  "Blue, you always know." She leaned her forehead up to the door of the cage and Blue put her head up to the door as well. Blue placed her other arm on the top of LeighAnns head as if to comfort her. "I better get to work." She moved away from the cage and started flushing the room.  She finished flushing out the cages and moved out into the back hallway, which technical terms was called the dirty hallway. She grabbed the feed bin, and made her way back into the room to feed all of her primates. They whooped and hollared at her to feed them, and she obliged. She started to feel better and she smiled at all of the primates in the room. She went back around to check and make sure the water system was working properly, and then took the feed bin out of the room. "Today is going to be a good day. I will not let them ruin my life and I will not be jealous of anything." LeighAnn nodded her head at herself and went down the hallway to the dirty side processing area. She decided right then and there she needed some time away from the front halls today and made herself busy cleaning and organizing toys in the clean cage area.  A few hours later, LeighAnn was ready for lunch. She made sure to stay busy and away from the front as much as possible after this morning. She was really proud of herself and when she got ready to clock out she had a smile, until she turned around and ran straight into Hoyt, again.  Oh great, a repeat episode of this morning? She took a deep breath, and instantly regretted it. Oh god, he smelled so delicious. Her body started tingling just from the smell. She was in trouble. If she couldnt stop the betrayal of her body now, how was she ever going to survive a kiss, a touch or even s*x? LeighAnn just wanted to run. She looked up at him, and for the first time he had actually been able to catch a close up of her eyes. Brown. Just plain brown. He was happy to know her eye color. But he was disappointed that the dream he had was just that, a dream.  "Hoyt, please move." LeighAnn whispered. She was worried he would see through her contacts. She did not need him to discover that she was the purple eyed wolf in his dreams. She knew every nightmare, every sad moment, and happy moment he had since the day they touched. In her opinion. It was annoying. She knew the mate bond was strong, but she did not realize how strong it would be for her. She wondered if he knew her dreams as well.  Hoyt looked away from her,and slowly stepped back. He was happy that she hadnt made a scene, but he was sad she didnt want anything to do with him. He really wanted to get to know LeighAnn, and she assumed the worst of him this morning when Abigaile asked him over for dinner. He was not going to her house, or to dinner with her. He was disgusted by her quite frankly. She is sleeping with the boss and thought she could just slip on in with the new guy. Gross. He was disgusted by how quickly she moved from the boss over to the new guy. It was deplorable how little she respected herself.  "LeighAnn, can we talk?" Hoyt asked as he stood by the breakroom door. "I think we need to clear some things up." He almost sounded distraught, demanding, and unsure all at the same time. LeighAnn wasnt sure if she was hearing him correctly, and could only stare at his fingers. She noticed he was digging at his nails while looking down, and she coughed a little to see if he would look at her. He slightly lifted his head, but did not look directly at her.  "Well, since you cant give me the courtesy to even look at me, then I shall return the favor and tell you no. " LeighAnn spun on her heels and walked down the hallway to the door leading outside. She had gotten hit by a cold crisp wind, and sighed. It was only Wednesday, but by God she was ready for Friday to hurry and get here. Friday came and went. LeighAnn had minimal contact with anyone at work all week. She just kept telling everyone she was tired and that she'd had a long week. She was so glad to see Friday come to a close for the work week. She had been getting ready to go when her Technical Specialist came up to her and asked if she wanted to work the weekend. Normally LeighAnn would, but she had already made plans and did not want to miss out on it. She apologized and headed to the locker room, got a shower, dressed out and hit the clock to go home.  She left the facility grounds and made her way to walmart. She needed some groceries and she grabbed only the necessities and headed home. She was always alone, and thats what botbered her about not living with Sophia anymore. She missed her roommate. She knew she was going to be busy this weekend, but next weekend, she planned on spending it with Sophia.
