MY FIRST LOVE

it's January 2014 school has opened and it's a new grade, 8th grade, everyone is excited about what they are going to learn and the new things they will discover about themselves. liscar goes over to kris' home to pick her up for school , but she finds Kris still in bed, aren't you going to school? liscar asked. not yet, I still have to write some exams for the school I wanted to go to. Kris is a 14 year old girl from a normal family, not rich and not poor, she lives with her parents and younger sister angel, her mum is a housewife and dad a chef at a 3 star hotel. ok I have to go now, I will be passing when I can to check up on you, ok take care, liscar went on to school. just like any other middle class girl Kris does her chores to help her mum even though her parents relationship wasn't the best ,they pretended to be a happy couple. the week of her exams came and although Kris was ready physically her mental state wasn't, but because she is expected to be the best she had to write the exam, a few hours later she came back feeling drained, the results will be out in two weeks, for now she continued with studying for the 8th grade and doing home chore. the week for results came and she went to the center to check along with her mum, you could hear her heart beat pounding in her chest from fear of the unknown, they checked the list and found that she was number 6 from 167 students and they only needed 5, Her heart sunk for she was only one mark away from being chosen. the school was very strict and they don't go back on their word, although her mum had a look of disappointment, she tried to support her all the way, later that evening her father found out about the results he was furious, he lectured her for hours , now the only option was to get admitted at the same school she was the previous year. February came and Kris was in a navy blue skirt with tacks and with a long sleeved shirt with a wool cotton Dallas, her hair picked neatly back and she was off to school, when she arrived, the atmosphere was rather different even though she had been at the same school for seven years there was something different about this year, she saw some of her old classmates who came to greet her, hey Kris welcome back we thought you were going to st Mary's school , there was high sarcasm in there words, but Kris being naive as she was she answerd kindly, no I didn't make the cut so am here. which class will you be in? asked on of the mates , I don't know yet. 8th grade only had two classes A for home economics(H.E) and B for art, if you go to the H.E teacher she will put you in her class come on let's go. Kris wasn't a fan of home economics so while the mates we discussing on where to take her, she was so contemplating inside and decide to go to the Art teacher and he immediately told her to go to class B. when she entered she realized that class B was an almost boys class it's was filled with not only good boys but bad boys too, actually a lot were bad boys. the girls were less than 20 from a class of 47 students, after lessons Kris went to meet up with her best friends, she had a small circle of less than 10 friends who have been with her since she was a kid, liscar, Ruth, Nancy, minx, Daniel, momo, John and haggai, these were the only people she trusted, although momo and Daniel qualified for the school they wanted, so this year they were not at the same school with the rest, but they kept in touch . Kris and her friends had lunch together and hours later they first day of school was done. how was school? asked her mum, it was ok am in Art class and pretty happy that I atleast have my friends, don't worry this year will be full of surprises. the next week's she kept on studying and catching up on notes for the first month she missed, she would get detention here and there because some teachers didn't care if she started late, they just wanted her to be updated, but she didn't mind , she enjoyed science and geography most English and history came in natural and Art was a fun subject to have.
