4. Library's closing down

976 Words
I woke up the next morning recalling the weird dreams I had all night pertaining to all the Lost Princess talk going on yesterday. I've got a feeling in my gut that there's something huge I'm missing, and I'm intrigued. I'm also up earlier than normal, and I know none of my friends will be up and ready to hang out. My parents will probably still be sleeping as well. I decided that I may as well go to the village library and do a little searching around for some information. I get dressed quickly and grab a snack from the kitchen on my way out. The walk to the library is quiet and pretty uneventful. Everyone is most likely sleeping from a long day and fun night at the Festival. I get to the library and make my way inside to see the librarians boxing up all of the books! What an odd sight, I wonder what's going on. I approach the first librarian I see and say "Hello librarian Crista. What in the world is going on? Please tell me you're just rearranging the books!" She turns to me with a sad look on her face "Oh Aurora, the library is closing down for now. With the Crown unable to produce another heir and the Lost Princess not being discovered, it's causing some changes in the Isle's. The Queen and King have requested that all information and librarians be called onto Dravens Wood Isle to assist in the Crown in whatever way we can. There's not much information being shared yet. I'm sure they want to keep the people who took the Lost Princess to find out what's going on. We know that she's still alive or that her rose in the castle would have wilted by now." All royals have a rose appear when they are born. They color and size of the rose display their power and life force. The flower wilts as a royal begins to die, so since he rose is still full, it means that she's alive and healthy. I got lost in my thoughts while librarian Crista was talking, so I continue listening, "but don't fret too much. All of the books will be at Bryxton Academy and open for anyone to read still! It would be a great time to take a little sightseeing trip! Hopefully I will see you there! You are free to read books while we pack. We just can't check any out right now! Even with magic, the packing will take a few days with how many books we have! Now off you go, I must get back to work." Before I head towards the back, I say."Thank you, librarian Crista. I'll say bye when I head out." The back of the library always has the most information about the Crown, I'm surprised they began packing in the front. At least I have a chance to do some research about my real parents and the Lost Princess. I doubt there are any connections there, but I might as well check it out while I'm here. I'm walking around looking at the books, trying to decide what I should start with when a book falls out from the shelf. It makes me jump because it startles me. I look around and see no one, so that means the book thinks I need to read it. When you have magics, it's not very far fetched to believe that objects have magic too. I find somewhere to sit and begin reading. I'm shocked when I set the book down, and it automatically opens to a photo of the Queen and King with another couple, which happens to be my real parents who have passed away! What is going on? I've never been told that they knew the Crown! This piques my interest, so I start reading the book. It takes a while to get to a passage explaining my parents' connect to the Queen and King, but when I get there, I read it a few times. Queen Adeile and King Finnegan trusted their closest friends, Willow and Otis, to be the protectors of Princess Celeste and her five maidens destined to be her best friends and greatest protectors. The names of the maidens have not been shared and will not be revealed unless done so by Princess Celeste. As they grow up together, they will share a bond that will strengthen the kingdom and all the magics for centuries. Too bad the Princess and her maidens were stolen so long ago. Hopefully, one day, they will be found, and things will be put right again. The grief of the Queen and King is slowly affecting the Isle's, and if it isn't reversed soon, we could lose enough power in the world, and eventually, our Isle's magics would fail. We would slowly die off until we no longer exist. No one knows the exact time frame, but it could happen eventually. My eyes are drawn to the picture on the next page. It is the Queen and King holding a small bundle standing with my parents again. Under the picture, it says: Queen Adeile holding Princess Celeste while standing with King Finnegan, Fawn, and Ivan announcing the future strength of Princess Celeste. She is predicted to have the brightest green eyes and the most sparkly silver wings in all of the kingdom. He powers will be unmatched, and she will take our kingdom to the next level of magic. Wait... brightest green eyes and sparkly silver wings? I have both of those features! This has to be an odd coincidence! But my parents knew the Crown personally, I've got to get to the bottom of this! I put the book away and rushed out of the library, saying bye to librarian Crista on my way out.
