As soon as I get home, I see both my parents sitting at the table eating breakfast. Mom notices me first and says, "Hey honey, you're up early!" And when Dad looks over, he says,"What's wrong? You look upset." Which causes me to scoff and say,"Did you know my real parents were friends with the Queen and King?" They just stare at me for a few beats, so I yell."DID YOU KNOW?" This also causes my magic to rise inside my body. Magic always reacts to all emotions, which makes me difficult when upset. Mom gives me a look and says "Well of course we knew, but that's not important. They never wanted you to know about that." And Dad follows up with."They loved you so much and wanted to keep you safe from the royal world. It's a dangerous place to be involved with." It's obviouse they are still hiding something, and it may take time, but I'm going to figure it out. With or without my parents' help. Mom's been trying to calm me down, but I was tuning her out, and I heard her say, "You just need to calm down and not think about your birth parents. There's nothing we can do about this now, so we might as well keep living our lives." This response makes me so angry, and I can not believe that they are going to act like this isn't important. I'm so upset that I just turn around and storm out of the house.
So much is going through my mind that I can't even remember arriving in the forest behind the village. Not many fairies come out here, so I take advantage of the solitude and begin blasting the trees with my magic while simultaneously repairing any damage to the forest. I've always loved nature, but I have a difficult time not destroying things when I get upset and my magic acts up. I taught myself to repair my surroundings because it used to hurt knowing I was being so destructive. I continue letting out my anger for a while, I always lose time when I am this upset, so I just let it all out in the hopes that it helps me to calm down. As soon as I have no more anger in me, I just lay down in the dirt with taking deep breaths to prevent myself from crying. I hear a branch snap nearby and shoot up into a sitting position to check my surroundings. I don't see anyone in front of me, and as I start turning to look behind me, I see Kingsguard Conroy as he begins speaking to me. "Your magic is so strong, and you have amazing control. Who has trained you? You should have been entered into an academy with that kind of magic." I'm shocked to have a Kingsguard comment on the strength of my magic so I don't respond right away, and he continues on."What is your name?" I find my voice to respond and say,"My name is Aurora Potts, and I trained myself using the books at our library so I don't have a sponsor to enter me into an Academy." He's shocked but recovers quickly and says "Well it looks like you will be going to Bryxton Academy then. I will be your sponsor and take on your training. I've sent the information to your home and notified your parents through my magic. We leave for Dravenswood Isle tomorrow morning, I'll be at your house by 7 am to pick you up, and we will travel together. Now off you go to pack and say goodbye to your friends and family." He just turns around and strolls away. I watch him until he's out of my view and sighs. How has my life changed so much overnight? I'm excited for the Academy, but this isn't what I expected, and there's so many thoughts running through my mind. I have to go find Lucy. She will know what to say.
Lucy's parents aren't home, so I rush over to her room and slam the door open without knocking. Lucy falls off her bed when the book she is reading goes flying into the air. I use my magic to cushion Lucy's fall and to catch the book and set it down on the bed. I immediately start venting. "I just had the craziest thing happen to me in the woods! I was so mad at my parents after confronting them about my real parents so I went to let off some magic, then Kinsguard Conroy saw me and said he's sponsoring me and I'm going to Bryxton Academy on Dravenswood Isle tomorrow!" Lucy just stares at me in shock. Once she gets past the shock, she says, "Tell me everything!" I start with all the weird things that happened yesterday. I also tell her about the library, the confrontation with my parents, and I finish with meeting the Kinsguard in the woods. As soon as I finish explaining everything, a packet appears on Lucy's bed, and she screams in excitement. "I've been accepted! Let's see what this says, then we can go to your house and get you packed up! I've been packed and ready for weeks just in case." I laugh and say,"Of course you already be packed and prepared!" Lucy pauses as she reads her packet, so I say,"What's wrong?" And she looks up at me and says,"I've been accepted into Bryxton Academy as well. This isn't for Berkton. We are going to school together on Dravenswood Isle!" We hug and dance around in excitement. Once we calm down, we decide it's time to go to my house to pack and see what my parents have to say about all of this. I'm sure Lucy's parents are over there too, so we can give them the news too.
