Tianna held her breath as she sunk into the water she liked it piping hot or she just didn't feel clean it would dry her skin out to the point it would crack like a reptile and then she would cover herself in shea butter she made herself with oil of peppermint spearmint black castor jojoba and grape seed her bath hadn't helped get her mind off things. Her research hadn't given her any answers and going to the queen hadn't given her any confidence she was actually more scared now that she knew the King was involved she always seemed on Mufasa's bad side as it was and whatever business deal he had with her mate she was positive he didn't want her to interfere. She decided to take a walk she had never left the palace at night and as she threw on some sweats she felt her thought detach from her movements it was like she wasn't in control of her body it was difficult to process this feeling while not being able to stop she smelled soft and warm and slightly minty she let her curls hang instead of pulling them up and she zipped the jacket quickly but she wondered where her underclothes where as she headed out into the warm summer evening she was glad she hadn't put any on her clothes felt nice against her skin and she noticed she had aglow to her in the moonlight. It was a gorgeous full moon she had never seen one up close and it was very close closer than it had ever been. She thought of her mate and though she wished to clear him from her thought she couldn't help but wonder was he noticing the moon too. He was so handsome and strong, he read more than her always holding a book and wearing a book bag filled with even more one of the reasons him being in the bookstore never seemed odd to her until today that was. She wished they could touch again she wouldn't pull away or at least she hoped she wouldn't because she was unable to direct her steps in the moment and wasn't sure how long this lapse of self-control would last, maybe it was the full moon she thought. That had to be it; nothing else made sense and she had never been outside at night especially a full moon she knew many people would be shifting outside the palace walls. Her curiosity began to peak but she knew it was very dangerous for her being the last of her kind and so widely hated she could just imagine if she shifted for the first time she wouldn't know where t began or what to do and she would be completely alone she wanted to run back inside the Palace at just the thought but her legs wouldn't carry her back and she realized she was heading right out the gate in this moment. She had nowhere to go she screamed in her head hoping her body would listen as she tried to force her legs in the direction back to the gate but the harder she fought the faster she went until she basically running her instincts told her to stop fighting but she couldn't everything she had been taught echoing in her head she knew she wouldn't survive the nigh on her own but she was the only one left. Then she remembered HER MATE he would know what to do but how would she keep him for eating her especially if he had shifted already she was still running fear in her gut and tears in her eyes but underneath that she felt a tingling a tension building up and when she leaned into it, it felt almost like freedom and that was so unfamiliar but alluring it attracted her with the same intensity as her mate she didn't even realize she wanted to be free she didn't even realize she had wants desires fantasies being a slave had snuffed that part of her out and as she ran they were being reignited it was terrifying and exhilarating at the same time. She didn't want to be afraid of herself she decided she wouldn't be afraid of her mate why couldn't she decide the same thing about herself? Because Mufasa and Simba would kill her before they ever let her taste freedom but that thought didn't make her sad this time it enraged her made her want to fight back or even just keep running but her legs stopped and she panted trying to catch her breath she realized where she was and froze in place she even stopped breathing she looked at Busy Bees Bookstore and for a moment felt grief replace the fear in her spirit all her memories of independence everything she had studied all that she had learned there could it really be over. But before she could began mourning she felt him she sensed his presence and hid behind a tree he didn't see her but he had shifted and she was surprised he was beautiful and strong he looked powerful in his eyes there was a sadness she wanted to heal or to create a smile there instead but she worried the only way she could bring him joy was as a meal so she remained hidden until he walked away from the window. She was devastated how was she going to make him love her she had to find a way because he loved him so much already. She wanted him to decide to love her and let her live. Maybe if she promised never to have his cubs or found a way to be useful to him? If he found her useful, he would have to let her live at least for a while, right? But how shat could he possible need from a slave girl of the royal family? She couldn't even go to college locally the king would never allow her to leave with him her heart broke with every question in her mind. But she had already made up her mind to face him just not right now he had shifted, and he was more dangerous.
“Who you hiding from?” she heard a gruff snarl coming from the darkness
“Super late for a human to be out during a full moon” the voice continued
“Who-who's there” she stuttered softly
“Meh-meh me” he mocked as he stepped into the light followed by three others. They were wild dog. A chill traveled down her spine They had shifted, and she wouldn't know who they were as humans if she made it out alive.
