Betrayed.
Medusa was a temptress, a lustful God. Mostly, she tempted mortals, weak willed men, easily taken off the path of right, and led into temptation. However, Medusa soon grew bored of these weak mortals falling at her feet, deciding instead to use her gift on Poseidon, Greek god of the sea, she used her gift, like she had on thousands of mortals before but she was unprepared for his power and rage. She could not stop him like with mere mortals, he was so much stronger, too strong to over power. Fearing for her life Medusa ran, far and fast feet carrying her to the temple of Athena- there was no hesitation, no pause as Medusa began to recite her prayers, begging over and over to the goddess for help. Her prayers fell short as Poseidon caught her, he dragged her body down to the cold tile floor of Athens temple stripping her airy dress from her supple form and took her body as if it were his to possess. Medusa's screams and pleas for help went unheard by Athena. No one was coming to help. Or at least, no one cared enough to help. Despite never being popular among her own kind, choosing the company of mortals was 'immoral' after all, Medusa never thought she would be cast aside so brutally by her own. She was forced to face her attacker, backed by his brothers, they all acted like a happy family and she was a fly buttered into bread. No one listened to her, no one cared what she had to say, or what had happened the bruising on her body was a style choice as far as they cared, her swollen closed eye a bad bee sting if it didn't fit their narrative it wasn't there- how can god's be so willingly blind? Painfully, she was outnumbered Medusa pleaded with Athena "help me, I meant no disrespect to your temple... I... You... Please... Help..." to her dismay, Athena was unmoved, choosing instead to bring down fury and fire upon Medusa's head. The Goddess transformed Medusa with the swish of her hand ensuring no man would lie with her again, she could never tempt another soul. The soul inside her, however...
